Skills and Abilities: 36 years of progressively responsible
positions in the Naval Aviation, Surface Craft and Submariner
platforms to include both supervisory and managerial positions
which indicate focus, commitment, the ability to get along well with

Terminology completed in January 2009 – Competencies attained
included: Understanding medical specialties, familiarity with
medical terminology to include bodily systems; i.e., skeletal,
muscular, cardiovascular, lymphatic, immunology as well as
understanding of the PDR and knowledge of drug administration.

Active Duty Military from 1972 - 1975
Thirty Six years as a Federal Civil Servant working with the U.S.
Navy - held progressively more responsible positions,
ending my Civil Service career in charge of a large organization
tasked with providing maintenance to all manner of Naval
aircraft, both domestic and abroad.
Phlebotomist January 2010 – June 2010 (40 hours per week)
Medical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomy (6 months) with
Sharp Rees-Staley in Chula Vista, California. Performed various
Phlebotomy tasks to include drawing blood from both pediatric
and geriatric patients in a clinical setting.
OMV Medical and Arora Group (contractor) Naval Medical Center
San Diego – Phlebotomist Main Lab from August 2010 to present
January 2015 - 40 hours per week - $18.00 per hour. I perform
various Phlebotomy tasks in a high volume clinical
setting(performing approximately 5 draws per hour). Tasks include
utilizing various phlebotomy processes to include venipuncture,
capillary technique, Microbiology specimen processes (blood
cultures) and specimen accessioning and processing. I perform
these processes on geriatric, pediatric as well as other customers. I
also process blood cultures, urine drug screens, paternity tests, and
CBCs. I am familiar with medical terminology having taken a full
semester on this topic during my academic training. I am very
customer oriented and understand the need for empathy and
compassion given the sometimes stressful conditions under which
the work is done. I am also trained on the module preanalytical
machine, one of three in San Diego. I’m reliable and dependable
and my salary requirements are reasonable and pragmatic given
the experience and training I have acquired. I am a hard worker
and take direction well. I am creative and constantly vigilant to
suggesting ways to improve processes to make them more efficient
and customer oriented.
