WORK EXPERIENCE

PELCO (at California, USA) Oct 2006 - Present

Software Engineer in User Interface Development Group in PELCO, Clovis CA

• NVR (Network Video Recorder) 5200 Web application: - Developed Web application of NVR-5200. NVR

5200 Web UI was used for configuring various devices which includes cameras and other NVR(s) in the network.

The development framework used was Adobe Flex and the languages used were Action Script 3.0, CSS, Java

Script, XML and PHP. The platform for NVR 5200 was Linux. This project also involved working with web

services (REST Calls). The database behind was Postgres.

• Odyssey Web Interface: - Developed Web interface for Odyssey Camera (IP camera which brings high definition

video). Languages used were HTML, CSS and Java Script.

• DVR (Digital Video Recorder) 5100 UI: - Designed UI and Developed prototype for DVR 5100.

Languages/Tools used were Action Script 3.0 with Flash Animation and Visio was used as designing tool.

• VCD (Visual Console Display):- Developed Creative and innovative design and prototype for the UI of VCD

Next Generation. Framework used was Flex and Language/Tool used was Flash and Action Script 3.0.

• Wireless Encoder Web Interface:-Designed web UI of Wireless Encoder and DVR 5100 for PELCO.

• Access Control (K2):- Designed and developed an application for K2 Access Control project. It involved use of

WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) environment with XAML for UI and C#.Net for business logic. It also

involved use of web services(SOAP Calls) to gather data. The database behind was SQL Server.

• Mapping Project: - Designed and developed an application for the Mapping Project in PELCO. Worked on WPF

environment with XAML and C#.Net. Used SOAP calls via web services to gather data. The database behind was

SQL Server. The base map for the project was a .cad file with a building map of PELCO with icons for camera

locations. On the map, user could create associations to link devices in a network. User could also associate alarms

and alerts to a specific camera in the network irrespective of its location. Layers were created to hide and show

information. For example, Evening shift guard could turn off Daytime layer to see the evening layer and the map

of his/her area. The functionality also involved zoom in and out, write notes, pick colors, disable and enable layers,

edit images, icons and associations.

PELCO (at California, USA) Jun 2006 - Oct 2006

Intern in Research & Development Group in PELCO, Clovis CA

• Smart Encoders: - Worked as an algorithm analyst for detecting the performance of Smart Encoders – devices.

These devices are used for security purposes in airports, malls, subway stations, parking lots and toll areas.

o Directional motion: Tested the algorithm’s fault tolerance where a person could walk only in one direction

from North to South. Someone attempted to walk in an opposite direction would trigger the security alarm.

o Object left behind: Tested the algorithm’s fault tolerance where a luggage bag is unattended for longer period.

o Object Count in a zone: This algorithm involved testing the count of people arriving in a certain zone. Each

zone had a specific count capacity. If more people entered the zone, an alarm with turn on.

• License Plate Recognition (LPR):- Worked as an analyst of LPR to test the performance of the algorithm. LPR

involved taking pictures of the license plate of the cars passing the toll area. It also helped in keeping track of the

cars parked in the parking lot. This task involved QA for Fault Tolerance of the algorithm to capture different test

scenarios where algorithm failed.

• Developed Attendance Management System application. An application with win forms designed in VB.Net with

SQL Server database. It helped keeping track of students attending the lab and their grades. Functionality also

included database search with partial names and drill down to student’s detail.

• Web Developer for “AAA Appraisals”, Fresno CA Jan 2005 - May 2005

o Designed and developed a website for AAA Appraisals. Technologies used were AJAX, HTML, C# and

ASP.Net. Using the website, the user could fill in the information in a form. When submitted, filled form

would generate a PDF file. PDF file would be emailed to the CEO of the company using SMTP protocol.
