Technology Trainer / Senior Project Manager 2009 - 2010

Trained faculty on numerous academic technologies and authored online

training series on MOODLE. Initiated and managed SideLights project, a

collaboration between the OIT and the Department of Film, Video and

Photography to document people and events at Pratt Institute with video

vignettes. Created Pratt iTunes U site, YouTube Channel and media portal

for the home page and intranet home page.

. Trained faculty and staff in numerous academic technologies including

MOODLE, SAP MyReports, Expression Engine, SlideShow Pro, Adobe CS5

Co-wrote proposal to Apple, implemented deployment, worked with iTunes

lecture hall experience.

. Developed and implemented a live webcasting regimen with The Windows

Media Video codec, saving the law school over 100k annually. Built

SMITHSONIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN, New York, NY 2002 -

2005

Assistant Move Coordinator, Imaging

The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) was moving

800,000 objects in its collection from the NMAI Research Branch in the

Bronx, New York to the NMAI Cultural Resources Center, a state of the art

storage facility in Suitland, Maryland.

Project Management

Managed an imaging team of five full-time staff members who were

Responsible for imaging each of the 800,0000 objects prior to the move from

the NMAI Research Branch in the Bronx, New York, to the NMAI Cultural

Resources Center in Suitland, Maryland.

. Introduced, implemented, and managed Extensis Portfolio Server, a

database program for managing digital assets. The program is used to

associate Meta data notes with a database of 4000 digital images that

document the move process from 1995 to the present. Since its

introduction, Portfolio Server has also been adopted by the NMAI Move

Conservation Department for organizing digital images of conservation

case studies. Served as Application Manager for Extensis Portfolio for

the Smithsonian NMAI.

. Developed web site for the NMAI Move. Outlined site architecture, edited

department introductions. Authored "Follow The Object" a multimedia Flash

presentation documenting the movement of an Apache Basket through all of

the departments of the NMAI Research Branch to its ultimate destination

in long-term storage at the NMAI Cultural Resources Center.

. Implemented video production and non-linear editing department at the

NMAI to document the historic move project.

SMART TONE AUTHENTICATION, New York, NY 1998 - 2001

Art Director, Project Manager, Project Management

A Start-up company developing an Internet and telephony authentication

system, Smart Tone System, utilizing an electronic authentication device

called the SmartKey. Initial targeted clients included corporations,

brokerage houses, and banking institutions with pilot deployment in 2001.

. Served in dual capacity of Art Director and Project Manager for the Smart

Key prototype, saving $60K in personnel costs up front. Established

design direction, and managed design and development of Smart Key

security device. Supervised 30 cross-functional project team members and

vendors, and oversaw $150K project budget.

. Completed project, including tooling, within 4 months. Utilized quick

thinking and decision-making skills to realize this project in record

time.

. Sourced and supervised industrial design firm on-site for the plastic

casing of The Smart Key. Co-negotiated contract, timeline and

deliverables.

. Served as liaison between vendors, the principal and the chief engineer.

Assisted in sourcing and provided ongoing oversight for electrical

engineers, printed circuit board designers, and molders. Supervised

tooling production on-site.

. Saved $20K in Smart Key project by organizing the human factors focus

groups, rather than hiring an outside marketing agency. Also wrote focus

group scripts to evaluate 7 preliminary models, and moderated 12 focus

group sessions.

. Sourced and managed Canadian web design firm. Created information

architecture and guided web design concept development. Collaborated

with in-house counsel and the principal to negotiate the contract,

timeline and deliverables.

. Provide in-house graphic design, HTML, and interactive design for

advertisements, brochures, sales collaterals and other promotional

materials.

. Developed competitor report template and a competitor matrix, and

spearheaded strategy meetings on competitor analysis and strategic

partnerships.

. Led weekly presentations to executive management on SmartKey marketing

and competitor issues, enabling them to make timely strategic decisions.
