I was doing a volunteer job for the startup company called "Lightning Storm
Software", which is developing a new language named "Sierra"(coded in C) -
high level C or in other terms, Readable C.
Sierra is a layer above C in which code is described in human terms, mainly
designed to simplify, speed up programming and to reduce the complexity. It
focuses on reuse and avoiding the cryptic code. Sierra is designed to be
able to write code based on how humans think.
It has less strict rules and has implied meanings. Sierra functions are
more readable and Error checking is implicit. Data structures (Linked list,
BST are pre-implemented.
Responsibilities:
Designed the C base code of Sierra translator.
Involved in grammar generation of Sierra.
Involved in Design of Function Spec of Sierra.
Involved in design of Sierra manual.
Implemented Linked lists,loops, conditional statements, switch,
input/output statements, comment handling, arrays, strings, functions, file
operations in C version of Sierra translator.
Code review,Unit testing and module testing of the above mentioned modules.
Involved in development of GAE (Google App Engine) version of Sierra
translator.

Portable media center/player/ development on I.MX31 platform. The device
consists of Local
playback, Streaming playback and DVBH player features. DIRECTSHOW was used
as base
multimedia framework, which is based on COM(Component Object Model).
Media player application development in C and directshow filters
development for the player in C++. MP3, WMA, AAC formats supported for
audio player. H.264, H.263, MPEG2 formats supported for video player. JPEG,
BMP formats supported for Image player. Voice Recording and FM recording
done in MP3 format.
Responsibilities:

3GP Creator was implemented in C.
Darwin Streaming server is an open source equivalent of Apple's Quick time
streaming server.
