To Whom It May Concern,
I am excited to submit my resume for your consideration. I recently graduated from Andrews
University with a degree in Engineering with a mechanical emphasis. In addition to classes and
work, I was involved with the local SAE student chapter, both as a member and later as President
and then Senior Advisor. During my time as president I led the club in building a buggy in
preparation for an SAE mini Baja competition.
The qualities I have demonstrated during my time at Andrews would also make me a valuable
addition to your company. In group project settings I take the initiative to organize and set goals.
Through completion of these many projects I have become skilled at problem solving and in the
engineering design process. This experience has also fine tuned my already excellent
communication skills. In addition to these qualities, my familiarity with typical engineering computer
programs would make my transition into your company smooth.
My ideal position would be one in which my creative approach to the engineering process will
be utilized and my problem solving abilities will be important. Where my ability to work with, help,
and enable team members will be appreciated and rewarded.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and consideration
Sincerely,
Joshua R. Bissell
