I had the opportunity to view your classified ad for the position of Field Safety Representative listed in the Augusta Chronicle
Newspaper and I wish to submit my qualifications for your review. I recently have moved on from Brasfield & Gorrie a project
at the Central Avenue Water Treatment Plant located in Augusta, Georgia. I am always looking to expand my experience and
knowledge with a company that is committed to workplace safety and takes a proactive approach in achieving a commendable
safety culture within its construction projects. I have over 12 years experience of field onsite-safety, classroom and office related
experience within an industrial / nuclear /mechanical typesetting to include manufacturing, new construction, and plant
maintenance. I am also authorized through the U.S. Department of Labor to teach the OSHA 10 - hour and 30 - hour safety
courses along with the ability to train employees in the additional CFR standards. I successfully completed my Construction
Safety and Health Certificate in the OSHA Construction Standards issued through Georgia Technical Institute via the OSHA
Institute of Des Plaines in September 2000 and have completed my third certificate update in April of 2006. I am experienced in
contract, time & material, and maintenance type contracts. I also have had Supervisor Training through the Mechanical
Contractors of America, the 40 – Hour Hazardous Materials course with an 8 – Hour emphasis of DOE Fundamentals and am
capable of teaching the 40 – Hour Hazardous Materials Course as well as being Confined Space Rescue trained. I have several
years of experience in the subcontractor badging, training, field inspections, and all other safety - related processes at Savannah
River Site. I have completed multiple classes at SRS to include lockout/tagout procedures, RAD I & II, and Confined Space. I
also have completed my CPR/ First Aid / AED Instructor Certification update through the Southeastern Coastal Chapter of the
American Red Cross and the Orangeburg, South Carolina Chapter and can conduct the Power Industrial Truck, JLG and Man-lift
training for employees as well. I have governed and provided training for as little as 50 employees up to 1200+ employees I
have successfully lowered workplace injuries and accidents in all of my positions and feel I am up to the challenging position you
have open.
Accomplishments achieved at my previous employment’s include developing and implementing the Safety Department and all
company policies and procedures for Muns Welding and overseeing all safety compliance for 120 + employees on various
projects. I have also achieved lowering Muns Welding’s total recordable rate by 3.74 points within a two-year span and lowering
their EMR rating from .73 for years 1999 – 2000 to .68 for years 2000 - 2001. While working for UNICCO at BFSC I developed
a yearly training schedule for employees to ensure Unicco stayed in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations and to
continue meeting the VPP Status requirements. I conducted all training for the employees and developed the training material for
such classes. My employment with Augusta Richmond County Public Works and Engineering allowed me to accomplish
developing the ground structure for the new safety department. Along with the new safety department, I developed several
policies and procedures; such as employee incentive program, employee concerns program, safety and human resources training
classes, safety awards program, policies that governed the correct workplace safety practices as recognized by OSHA, and getting
the safety department for this division up and running for more than 368 employees. Achievements at the Marsh’s Edge Project
include developing and implementing the fall protection Procedure, developing and conducting the Site Safety Committee and
developing a spreadsheet to record infractions by subcontractor and the abatement terms for the site.

the Central Avenue project include overseeing the safety culture for a 70+-employee expansion project, acting
as a safety resource for the Jobsite Superintendents, assist jobsite Safety Manager with preventing injuries and
accidents. Perform Comprehensive Project Safety Audits, Daily Inspections, implement and perform jobsite
safety analyses, create and implement the site-specific safety manual for the upcoming Mezzerlee addition at
