BP Midwest Region - (2002 - 2005):
Based at the Naperville R&D location, but additional locations at
Lisle and Naperville Illinois added to
the areas of responsibility; total number of people at 4,000 -
4,500.
Maintained and update a majority of the items on the HSSE Department
Intranet Web site.
Maintained OSHA 300 Logs and OI&I reports for the BP Naperville
campus and the other regional office
locations.
Developed and implemented training for the roll checkers and brigade
staff in the office complexes at the Warrenville and Lisle locations.
Worked with the head of the Security Department to evaluate and
purchase a system that would record select emergency phones lines and the
two-way radio system conversations.
Have proven my ability to work with all levels of employees through

vice-presidents, managers, facility supervisors, and research personnel.
Developed procedures regarding the response to emergencies at the
other regional office locations involving members of the Security

site shut-down; period of maintenance/repairs on site utility systems.

Amoco Corporation (BP), Naperville, Illinois - (1999 - 2002):
BP merged with Amoco in 1999. A senior safety engineer and I
supported the Naperville location, and then 3 office locations in
Warrenville, Illinois; responsible for an estimated 3,000 people.
Attained title of Certified Safety Professional in March of 1999.
Assigned as the primary after-hours incident commander for all
incidents at the Naperville and Warrenville
locations.
Involved members of the Medical Department, Emergency Response
Team, site Security, and Facility personnel
for pre-planning of emergency responses, or changes to current
protocol.
Worked part-time at the Amoco Chemical Plant in Joliet, Illinois when
a few of their units were down for
planned turn-arounds.
Provided assistance to regional BP facilities when safety-related
services are requested.
Acted as the primary contact and advisor to contractors and sub-
contractors involving new construction and reconstruction projects.
Projects ranged from six figures into the multi-million dollar range.
Worked with a very diverse client base as a member of many cross-
functional teams. Work with representatives from BP Corporation, Chemical,
and Refining at the Naperville, Lisle, Warrenville, and Downers Grove
facilities.
Authored the site-wide safety bulletins, some of which dealt with
asbestos containing material (ACM), OSHA's Standards on blood-borne
pathogens (BBP), and personal protective equipment (PPE). Other bulletins
involved accident investigation results.
Amoco Corporation, Naperville, Illinois - (1994 - 1999):
Safety Specialist/Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
Internal reorganization in 1994; I became a safety specialist
assisting two safety engineers, supporting
the site R&D operations, which involved about 2,000 people.
Was assigned to assist the Refinery R&D operations due to my
past history as a technician.
Assigned to be the Director of the Naperville location Emergency
Response Team member.
Scheduled safety-related training and annual emergency drills
involving the Naperville Campus Emergency
Response Team and municipal emergency response agencies.
Assisted the senior safety engineer with the script, filming,
and final processing of the contractor safety video,
and the visitor safety video. Videos were developed through an
out-of-state business.
Worked with the IT specialists to install some basic safety-related
training on an in-house computer-based training program.
Implemented a safety section on the site Intranet Web site. It
incorporates statistics, bulletins, and the site HSSE manual.
Created the style, format, and materials to present at an BP Amoco
Chicago area meeting highlighting best safety practices.
Involved with early screening and acquisition of truncated radio
systems which replaced our previous aged system.
Attained Associate Safety Professional certification in 1996.
Amoco Corporation, Naperville, Illinois - (1989 - 1994):
Asbestos Program Manager (APM)
Transferred into the Environmental Affairs & Safety Department as the
site Asbestos Program Manager (APM).
Implemented the new policies and laws dealing with asbestos materials at
the Amoco Research Center.
Responsible for all asbestos items in all eight (8) buildings, on the 180
acre site; population of 2,000 people.
Certified asbestos abatement contractor supervisor.
Was responsible for all site-wide asbestos abatement projects, from
inception to completion.
Co-authored the permits for both the Stormwater Discharge and the NPDES
permits for the Naperville retention pond.
Volunteered to be an Emergency Response Team member, which is managed by
the safety department.
Developed an updated format for New Employee Safety Orientation (NESO).
Responsible for the maintenance and upgrading of the site early warning
notification systems for severe weather conditions.
Amoco Oil Company, Naperville, Illinois - (1980 - 1989):
Research Technician
Operated oil processing pilot plants at the Amoco Research Center.
Co-authored four (4) U. S. patents and one (1) international patent.
All dealt with reducing gas hold-up in three (3) phase flow fluidized
bed reactors. Improved reactor performance led to a $4-7 million increase
in profits per year, in just the first few years of implementation.
