YOUNG SERVICES, Toledo, Ohio . 2006 - 2009
Young Services runs the Early Learning Initiative (ELI) program operating
more than 70 daycare centers throughout the state. The State of Ohio,
Department of Education in conjunction with Job & Family Services offers
the ELI program to prepare children to enter kindergarten at a higher
knowledge level.
Center Support Manager
Joined Young Services in an administrative role, advanced in 2008 to become
the Center Support Manager evaluating, developing territory, and helping to
launch new centers. Provided the ELI program support to at all centers to
include room arrangement, monitoring of screenings and reporting
requirements, as well as purchasing materials for centers, monitoring
lesson plans and professional development, and completing all Ohio
Department of Education reports. Collaborated with centers to correct non-
compliant issues and increase enrollment. Worked closely with teachers,
administrators, parents, children, government officials and community
resources. Served as a program and child advocate. Provided leadership to
13 child care centers and 19 ELI classrooms throughout the state. Reported
to the VP of Administration. Position eliminated when the state ended the
ELI program.
As an Administrative Assistant, entered data, monitored compliance, and
expenses; completed and submitted reports to the Ohio Department of
Education. Communicate with centers throughout the area and supported
other. Assisted children and families with locating community resources and
preparation of kindergarten aged students.
