Behavioral Analysis Research Laboratory- Central Michigan University

Behavioral Analysis (January 2013-May 2013)

• Learned principles of behavior such as Classical and Operational Conditioning, including

reinforcement schedules.

• Applied teachings directly to laboratory experience with rats, worked with operant

conditioning chambers.

• Analyzed data from rat experiments weekly and discussed implications of findings.

Neuroscience Research Laboratory- Central Michigan University

Research Assistant (June 2012-May 2014)

• Carried out experiments in stem cell culturing, Alzheimer’s disease, and spinal cord injury.

• Collected data from both behavioral studies and tissue analysis.

• Procedures conducted include Morris water maze testing, stem-cell culturing,

Immunohistochemistry, brain freezing/sectioning, mounting tissue, and neuron quantification.

Learning and Memory - Central Michigan University

Learning and Memory (August 2013-December 2013)

• Studied fundamental research involving Classical and Instrumental Conditioning.

• Learned concepts such as habituation, sensitization, extinction bursts, verbal learning, short-

term retention, encoding, storage and retrieval.

• Applied such concepts in a semester long behavior modification project. This included

identifying a behavior, collecting baseline data, identifying stimulus conditions,

implementing a conditioning schedule and analyzing results.
