CAREER PROFILE Educated at the University of Reading
along with some courses taken from its prestigious
ICMA Centre, I have a Bachelors Honours Degree and an
MSc. I am a very ambitious and hard-working
individual, and I have managed to start and run my
own business thus far, after a two-year stint at a
top professional services firm.

1 June - September 2002 Charterhouse Bank
Summer internship that involved working in different
departments for two weeks each. I worked in foreign
exchange, lending, clearing, cash and investment.
February - June 2003 NTL (now Virgin Media)
Worked as an Administrative Assistant for five days
a week after classes at University. Work involved
confirming and rescheduling appointments for
cable TV installations, answering phones and taking
new online orders.
July - December 2003 Natwest Bank
Worked as a telephone Customer Service Advisor at
this leading financial institution. The work
involved a variety of tasks such as setting up
direct-debits and standing orders over the telephone, setting
up appointment for account upgrades, and doing bank transfers. There
was also a vital aspect of selling; whereby one's target
was usually around three sales made per day, with
awards given to the top performers.
Sept 2005 - Dec 2007 Deloitte
As a graduate recruit in the Assurance and Advisory
department, I was effectively an audit trainee,
working on the year-end audits of various companies.
Large jobs I was a part of included Microsoft, Nortel
Networks and Toys R Us. I sat for the first stage of my ACA exams in
March 2006 and passed with flying colours - I left to start my
own business.
January 2008 - Present JHJ Limited, Nairobi Kenya
JHJ is a small holding company that I started
at the beginning of
January 2008, with interests primarily in car
importation. One year later, we are now involved in
property, heavy commercial transport, automotive
accessories, clearing and forwarding, and most
recently business process outsourcing. We have a
workforce of about 50 and are growing steadily.
