Professional Experience Summary
25 Years Extensive Telecommunications experience. To include customer service,
installation & maintenance of ISDN, Fiber Optics, CAT 5 cable plants and wire/ T-1
circuits, Blueprint reading and ANSI/EIA/TIA 568-A standards. While with the
B.A.C.C.S.I organization and Verizon Communications I have performed duties in
residential I&M, Video, Small Business & Enhanced Services. Supervise, organize
materials and train entry level technicians on a routine basis. Worked on Verizons new
FiOS Service and coordinated the first Residential FiOS install in the city of Virginia
Beach. While serving in the US Army I maintained a SECRET Security Clearance and
maintained and operated all Comsec/Crypto Equipment. I also maintained all Crypto
paper work to include transporting CEOI/SOI to and from certain locations.

Verizon FiOS service. Work with CAT 5 and CAT 5e, Fiber Optic and Coax Lines.
Using test equipment to troubleshoot and repair defective lines to ensure customer
satisfaction. Plan and coordinate installations of Residential and Business establishments.

surveys & supervise coordination of job. I was assigned to the City of Virginia Beach,
working directly with City Information & Technology representatives on
Telecommunication issues & concerns. Was BICSI Qualified. Installed, Tested and
Maintained Secure Fiber Optics that interconnected all Municipal Buildings in the City.

amplifiers & line extenders to ensure quality pictures to customers, upgrades &
downgrades in service, disconnects & reconnects to include non-pay disconnects,
collections of non-pay accounts. Balancing System using correct Pads & Equalizers to
compensate for spacing. Splicing cut trunk & feeder lines, detecting & repairing AC &
RFD shorts. Worked directly with the satellites & all receiving equipment at the
Headend.

Managed the overall operation of the communication section including seven
personnel & communication equipment valued at $900,000. Managed, supervised,
trained and briefed higher management on communications issues. Performed duties
above level of position. Led communications shop to a 100% rating during an
unannounced inspection by Corps Headquarters. Maintained a high standard of shop
morale & respect within the organization. Maintained SECRET Security Clearance and
was in charge of all Comsec/Crypto equipment and paperwork.

Responsible & accountable for $600,000 in communication equipment. Daily
maintenance & services and numerous inspections. I was the only communications
member assigned to unit, therefore operating all communications aspects under no
direct supervision. Brought shop to high state of readiness & passed high level
inspection with a 98% in first four months of arrival. This was the first time in four years
shop had passed any type of inspection. Maintained SECRET Security Clearance and was
in charge of all Comsec/Crypto Equipment and Paperwork associated with my Unit.
Transported Highly Secret information in a Foreign Country weekly.
