Team Leader
April 2002 - May 2002
This was a pilot project being executed for client called AXA Insurance in
Germany. The scope of the project is to re engineer unstructured cobol
programs into a well documented and structured cobol as per the guidelines
set by the client. The main challenge of this project was to interpret the
client documents and interactions which are in German into equivalent
English one. There was not test environment or test cases given by the
client and the project duration was very less. The cobol with IMS calls had
to be restructured well, tested and delivered to the client. The client is
very happy with the work and we are expecting a big chunk of work from the
client, which will involve re engineering, migration of applications into
Z/OS operating system.
Role
Was involved in handling of quality documents. Was involved in preparing
the strategy document of the project process and also with client
interactions. Took Initiative in handling of complex cobol programs
conversion and setting up the test environment and preparation of test
cases. Is now in the process of writing a REXX routine to keep to automate
the conversion process to atleast 30% of manual work.

This project is a migration of IMS database to DB2 database. It is still in
the pilot phase and the initial study and inventory phase is over. We are
in the process of preparing a Mapping document of IMS segments and fields
into corresponding DB2 tables and Columns. I have written a REXX routine,
which does atleast 30% of the conversion process of IMS to DB2.
Role
Currently involved in preparing the cookbook for migration of IMS to DB2
Database. Setting up the environment
And involving in Inventory Analysis. Rexx routines are developed which will
reduce the manual work of conversion and other inventory analysis work.
Planning to migrate some of the clients IMS programs into equivalent DB2
calls and testing the programs with the results of IMS and DB2 calls.

Project: Bluetooth L2CAP Protocol Stack
Bluetooth is a de-facto open standard for short-range digital radio. It is
designed to operate in the unlicensed ISM band.Bluetooth can replace
cables. It supports voice as well as data. There are four basic parts to
any Bluetooth system: a radio (RF) that receives and transmits data and
voice, a baseband, link management software and supporting application
software.
This Project involves developing the L2CAP Protocol Stack of the BLUETOOTH
wireless technology. This protocol supports higher-level protocol
multiplexing, packet segmentation and reassembly, and the conveying of
quality of service information. This layer resides in the data link layer.
The simulation of higher layer and lower layers of L2CAP layer is simulated
by using message-based interfaces. For testing purposes GUI's will be
developed for the user level interaction with the L2cap layer code.
ROLE
Was involved in the design of l2cap layer of the bluetooth stack and also
coding some of the modules and testing and quality procedures.

Project: EPOC Development
Involved in the design and development and implementation of SNMP
application on EPOC devices. The application consists of two modules,
Manager and Agent. The Manager runs on the hand held device and passes SNMP
requests to the Agent. The Agents which remains active constantly responds
to the Manager's request. It looks similar to the SNMP prototype. UML
notation was used to represent the class diagrams.
ROLE
Designed and implemented the sample Agents for use in the projects. Also
worked on the manager side developing the data structures used to store the
details of different agents. This internal project had standards of CMM
specifications and was involved in the quality procedures
