Manage Central Office Operations, including Transport, Long Haul,

Dacc's, Voice Mail, AC, DC, HVAC, UPS, Generator and OSP.

Oversee OSP; planning design, staking, buried plant, Fiber Optics,

Terminals and Closures.

Price and Manage contractors to ensure Buried and Aerial Fiber including

COAX and Copper are correctly placed including; Right of Way, Easements,

Bonding, Grounding, Manholes, Electrical Protections, Cable Throws and

Cut Sheets.

Supervise contractors installing network equipment and supporting

infrastructure.

Install Certify & Monitor infrastructure build out for interconnection

capacity at 30 ATT collocation sites.

Certified all aspects of customer co-location turn-up, including all

UPS, DC Plant, AC and DC electrical connects.

Schedule, certify and document all wireless turn-ups from RF technicians

for Nextlink Communications to XO.

Managed the XO Houston turn-up of the Central Office, including 911

certification, ATT direct end office trunking, built the original

translations for Local and LD call processing in the DMS500 including

A-Links / SS7.

Managed the Field Service install team that installed all customer XO

facing equipment including Hatteras, Adtran, Cisco, CAC, Nortel, etc.

Ensure 24-hour coverage of all areas within route, for one-hour response

to sites and 4 hour response to 11 regen sites from Houston to Florida,

Houston to Dallas and Houston to San Antonio.

Network Engineer III

Responsible for network issues within the DMS100/200 class 4/5 end

office including 19 sonet remotes.

Manage activities including new DS3, OC3, OC12, and OC48 interstate

circuit turn-ups. Ensure all customers PRI, Centrex, ISDN translations

input.

Fiber FDP's assignments, troubleshoot all Fiber issues and update Stake

Sheets for 100% accuracy.

Verify all work is in accordance with engineering package

specifications. Redline any deviances from engineering packages after

completion and return to network engineering for evaluation and records

update.

Manage access, security, and safety for all persons needing access to

sites.

Responsible for all issues on the voice mail platform and all 3/1 MUX.

Co-ordinate all billing issues with IT for resolution and process

completion.

Responsible for on-time test and acceptance of new central office

turn-up, including complete build out of entire working switch database

to give a transparent roll to the new switch.

rings.

Ensure full compliance to stringent AT&T standards for switch and

transport installs.

Responsible for being on-call supporting one-hour-to-on-site response.
