Branch Operations Manager

Manage all aspects of auto parts distribution warehouse/sales office.

Forecast and plan the future growth and development of all areas of the

business. 2 assistant managers, 30 warehouse employees, and 5-contract

drivers complement the operation, which grosses $1.3M per month and retains

an average profit of 11-12%. Responsible for reporting next years annual

budget which consist of gathering all branch expense data and project into

the data potential branch growth based on solid revenue data, trends in the

market area, and diligent communication with the area sales director. Also

budget capital expenditures.

Meticulous monthly examination of the branch P&L. Setting the budget the

year before the P&L becomes the branch report card. The 3 years I spent

with World Pac the branch averaged a 34% increase in sales revenue budget

dollars and $3M over operations budget dollars retaining 14% profit

overall. There was little to no growth before this time frame.

Constantly plan and execute new routes and new territories including out of

state ventures. Modify and or rearrange existing routes that are too heavy

and add new trucks and employees. Add new customers to existing routes via

Map Point for optimal route efficiency.

Maintain and manage Symbol bar code scanner units. System capable of

tracking all drivers at all times. This tied into delivery pods as well as

all returns allows the branch to be paperless. Also used to monitor and

manage driver route efficiency.

Responsible for the fleet management of 16 small trucks as well as gas

reconciliation. New hire interviewing, employee reviews, motivate and

counsel employees as well as aggressively reduce vacation liability.

Inventory management of a monthly average $2.5M stock. The average order

fill rate remains a consistent 98.8%, which equates to a very tight and

diligent receiving process ($850K inbound per month), which incorporates

meticulous accurate procedures, and hiring the right people. The 2006

inventory completed in October and based on $2.3M stock, the total variance

was plus $1500.

Maintain the building and plan for the future. Recent remolding of the

entire office and bathrooms. Recent expansion project of the warehouse to

improve efficiency and overall flow. As a result of the warehouse

improvements moral went up and so did productivity. The warehouse pulled an

average 750-850 orders per day, that count went to 900-1000 per day with

less people.

ELECTRONIC DATA CARRIERS/BEKINS; Carrollton, T X (1999- 2005)

Operations Manager

Manage local and remote fleet thru the use of 3 dispatchers, 3 customer

service appointment setters and 12 drivers/helpers. Fleet consists of 7

local bobtails running 6 days a week. 1 West Texas bobtail running 3 times

a week. 1 tractor-trailer West Texas weekly run. 1 East Texas bobtail

running 3 times a week. As well as Colorado, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New

Mexico, and Kansas runs.
