I am working with Technip-France, Abu Dhabi as Civil/Structural Engineer
for Oil and Gas projects from 2.25 years and more.

Thesis
Area of work: Characteristics of soil-cement block and soil-cement block
masonry
In the study, role of surface friction on the compressive strength of
Masonry is examined. In the process, NISA (EMRC), and ANSYS 5.4/6.1 carried
out the Analysis of Masonry Prism. A 3D masonry prism (550 X 240 X 100mm)
is modeled using ANSYS. The prism consists of two different materials. Both
the materials have been modeled with their elastic and deformation
characteristics. Their interface is modeled with Contact Element Concept.
Materials non-linearity are been taken into account by using actual Stress-
Strain curve for the two materials, i.e. Block and Mortar. Concepts of
Contact Elements were used to model the interface of Mortar and Block.
Failure pattern has been studied by the analysis of ANSYS. Same is verified
experimentally. Extensive program of experiment has been set up and useful
data has been taken.
