Software engineer - Involved in building and enhancing the verification
system for eBay.
Responsible for building a new type of 3rd party assertion-based SOA
service for identity check verification based on the Name, Address, and
Phone number of a user which forms the entire basis for the next
generation eBay verification system.
Worked on building a new Knowledge-based authentication (KBA) Service,
that will be used for Front Door Security to target bad users while
balancing the eBay good user friction.
Plugged the leak of the existing eBay Seller Registration by
introducing the user machine identity based verification into the
existing eBay seller registrations without impacting the current
functionality.
Helped allay the customer repugnant ratio by researching and unfurling
the discrepancies that exist in the current platform and provided
reconciliation solutions as a measure of self heel for the system
issues.
Collaborated in capturing the user activity within the system to
implement a Neural Network based system which calculates a user
verification score, widely consumed across the eBay systems for user
evaluation.
Actively engaged in the idea, design and development of several
internal assistance tools.
Helped in building an internal verification monitoring graph tool that
is run as a batch every hour plotting the number of users registering
at eBay and sends a caution alarm when the count decreases or increases
beyond the threshold which facilitated the eBay management in observing
and tracking the overall system.
Skilled in analysis and code optimizations involving system research.
Experienced in working with agile methodology and SOA services.
Worked on building a Experimental Learning (ExL) tools to perform tests
on the verification platform, which when enabled, help select the
verification process for a small percent of the user population, based
on the experimenting parameters and depending on the routing criteria
provided through the experiments created in the Experimentation
Platform.
Involved in drafting the entire production roll out plan for the
critical Name-Address-Phone verification SOA service project.
Analyzed, reported and rectified a very long existing and revenue
impacting bug within the system in which the number of users
registering in eBay was calculated inaccurately.
Provided leadership and held training sessions to the team of engineers
on the verification platform and bolstered them with the project
ventures.
Awards & Recognitions:
Won the eBay Spot Award for the design, analysis and expedited delivery
of a critical user verification project, ‘Known good authentication’
aimed at blocking the fraudsters. This project resulted in an overall

Received the 2010 Engineering Excellence Award, one of the prestigious
accolades of eBay for building the new generation verification system.
