PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1. Third Party Warehouse Implementation
Company/Client : Landmark Group
Duration : May'09 to Apr'10 Team Size : 5
Platform : D2K, UNIX, Shell Scripting, Oracle SQL / PLSQL, RMS,
RIB, WMS
Role : IT Project Lead
Overview : Landmark corporate selected Oracle retail as an enterprise
application for all its operations. It included Oracle MOM suite (RMS,
ReSA, ReIM, RTM, RPM, RA), SIM, ORWMS, ORDW, OBIEE. One of the businesses'
automation needs required third party WMS system to be implemented for PTL
operations and for multi-sku storage / handling operations.
The system implementation required integration of third party WMS (RDS) to
integrate with Oracle Retail MOM, ORWMS systems where the inventory was
managed by RMS. Due to complexity of both the systems complete solution was
delivered through interface design and a completely non-intrusive solution
was delivered along with near real time integration.
The unit through put was significantly increased with turnaround time of 36
hrs was reduced to 10 hrs.
2. System Stock Accuracy
Company/Client : Landmark Group
Duration : Jan'10 to Jun'10 Team Size : 4
Platform : D2K, UNIX, Shell Scripting, Oracle SQL / PLSQL, RMS,
RIB, WMS
Role : Project Lead
Overview : The warehouse application since went live in April 2008
has been having the issues of inventory accuracy w.r.t stock visibility to
buying / merchandising vs stock visibility to warehouse teams; causing loss
of sales opportunity, over stocking at stores along with massive issues in
inventory reconciliation.
The project was done in different phases of DMAIC methodology (Design,
Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control). The inventory accuracy was measured
to be very low in the range of 85-87% between the systems vs physical
accuracy of 98% and above. The project measured and analysed the issue in
business processes and some bugs in IT systems. The real issue was
diagnosed to be change management & training where users due to ignorance /
due to easy bypass were not following the process. The resistance was due
to some system controls that needed users to follow processes in multiple
steps. The subprojects were launched with focus on process enforcement, re-
training, IT fixes and control. The control mechanism was put in place that
checks system accuracy 2 times in a week and provides individual item level
discrepancy.
The inventory accuracy between the systems increased from 87% to 99.58%
within 4 months and physical stock accuracy to 99.49%. 6 months in a row
business achieved 100% fulfilment from WH to store.
3. Support & Maintenance

6. Oracle Retail Implementation & Support
Company/Client : KOJ
Duration : Jan'07 to Apr'09 Team Size :
16
Platform : D2K, UNIX, Shell Scripting, Oracle SQL / PLSQL, RMS,
RIB, WMS, MOM, Java, Appworx etc.
Role : Project Manager
Overview : KOJ selected Oracle retail as an enterprise application
for all its operations. It included Oracle MOM suite (RMS, ReSA, ReIM, RTM,
RPM, RA), SIM, ORWMS, ORDW, OBIEE. The project was delivered on-time,
under budget with support of Implementation partner. It involved rolling
out of MOM suite to all the businesses of head office (one go-live) and 2
warehouses (1 UAE, 1 KSA). This is one of the very first pure Vanilla
implementations of Oracle retail and the most successful as well. The
project delivered in a record time also provided on version of truth for
business to manage i.e. stock position of all the stores visible by end of
the day to the business teams for their quick decisions. The project was
done in collaboration with systems integrator with only ONE experienced
Oracle Retail hiring. Change management, Service transition to support was
managed in-house. One of the exceptional achievements on the project was
Legacy integration with ORIB and trickle polling from legacy stores, no
mass uploads. WMS ROI was 150 days.
7. Business Reports (OBIEE)
Company/Client : KOJ
Duration : Sep'08 to Mar'09 Team Size : 3
Platform : UNIX, Shell Scripting, Oracle SQL / PLSQL, Oracle
Retail v12 (WMS, MOM), OBIEE, Appworx etc.
Role : Project Lead
Overview : KOJ project plan included installation of RDW (for data
capture) with delayed implementations. In year 2008 Oracle roadmap of OBIEE
influenced KOJ's decision of replacing planned Micro-Strategy
implementation with OBIEE. The project was a challenge due to lack of
skills with OBIEE and oracle retail in addition to Oracle din't support
OBIEE on v12. The project was delivered by learning OBIEE with trial and
error, additional remote / web training on OBIEE. The internal IT team
played the role of BA, capturing the requirement, validating, sign-offs and
implementation of OBIEE for business in 2 phases (Operational reports &
Analytics). The project was exceptional with ROI in weeks due to miniscule
investment of USD 3000/- for training & no external consultant.
8. TESCO 10AL
