EXPERIENCE
Fidelity Investments, Boston MA
Contract Technical Writer/Instructional Designer
7/05-9/10
Member of the Business Integration documentation team of National Financial
(NF). Worked with developers and deployment consultants to produce a set of
14 manuals for client developers, documenting the suite of NF application
programming interfaces (APIs). Delivered as XML Web services, these APIs
provide brokerage data and functionality to Fidelity's institutional
clients. Also created and updated documentation used by Business
Integration trainers-user guides for Fidelity's Web and mainframe brokerage
platforms, reference cards, and workflows. Received NF Expect Excellence
Award (2Q07) and Veritude Certificate of Recognition (4Q07).
Contract Technical Writer
8/04-5/05
Member of the Health and Welfare Consulting team of the Fidelity Human
Resources Services Company. Managed content (for three external clients) of
a new reporting tool on NetBenefits, Fidelity's savings and benefits Web
site, used by clients of Fidelity's retirement and human resources
outsourcing business. Interacted closely with clients, developers, Web
publishers, and product specialists.
Contract Technical Writer
10/03-4/04
Member of the Common Collaboration and Services team of the Global Equity
Trading Technology (GETT) division. Documented Java components and
frameworks developed by GETT to be shared by sister divisions. Designed the
overall GETT User's Guide and developed a chapter template.
Senior Technical Writer
1998-2002
Member of the Human Interface Design team in the Fidelity Center for
Applied Technology. Produced internal documentation for Fidelity developers
and support staff and external documentation for the technical staff of
Fidelity's institutional clients. Many of my documents were new, created
from scratch, and thus required extensive planning, full participation on
project teams, and close working relationships with developers. Major
projects included network security-in particular, public key cryptography
and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)--procedures for software development
and system administration, and API documentation. Received President's
Award as a member of the PKI team, which launched Fidelity's own PKI and
Certificate Authority in 1999.
