ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Advanced Data Communications:
IPTV Technology: Presented a research paper on Internet protocol Television (IPTV), which describes in detail the
generic architecture of IPTV, scalability issues, QOS/QOE, services offered, technical challenges, pros, cons and future
trends of IPTV.
Data Communications: Analyzing network protocols using Wireshark
Accomplished the detail analysis & design of the layout of Internet and Network Measurement using Wireshark.
Broader view of internetwork and its various types of packets was studied.
Digital Image Processing
Simulated and implemented several image processing techniques and algorithms using MATLAB.
List of projects in Image processing:
1. Lloyd –Max Quantizer for Rayleigh density function
2. DCT-II Basic images
3. Inverse Gaussian Filter (IGF)
4. Edge Detection
5. 2-D DPCM
6. Universal Image Quality Index ( UIQI theory)
Wireless Communication: MIMO and MISO Simulation Study Using MATLAB
Studied the simulation of Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) which refers to radio link with multiple antennas at both
Tx and Rx sides. The assumptions are both transmitter and receiver employ the same polarity and Rayleigh fading
channel is assumed between them.
Information Theory and coding: Rate versus Power Control in IS-95 and CDMA2000
Comparison of system performance of IS-95 Vs CDMA 2000 1XEV-DO.The project aims at evaluating and comparing
rate versus power control in IS-95 and CDMA2000 1XEV-DO. System level design for a mobile wireless user terminal
considering Rayleigh fading channel is performed. The system was subjected to using different power control schemes
such as channel inversion power control for IS-95, equal power allocation and water filling power control for
CDMA2000. The diversity techniques such as Transmit diversity (MISO), Receiver diversity (SIMO), SISO and MIMO
were also employed. These were also subject to the special cases of Full Channel Side Information (CSI) and Channel
Side Information at Receiver (CSIR).
Digital Communications: Designing a physical layer of WLAN
Designed a physical layer simulation reference system for a digital communication system, a fixed
wireless local area network (WLAN) using MATLAB with specifications of modulation involving BPSK and
transmitted the burst of 576 symbols in 1ms. Designed a channel equalizer using MLSE (Viterbi
algorithm) for a multi-path channel (introducing inter-symbol interferences) with BPSK modulation based
on the assumption that the channel can be perfectly estimated at the receiver.
Undergrad Project: Remote Visual Display using 8051 Micro Controller
Designed a circuit which displays the remote information on to the display screen which is held in
other location. Used the 8051 microcontroller to generate information in the form of bits and
generated hexagonal numbers which are displayed using LEDs at the other end.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
• First prize in Science Exhibition for “Thermal Power Generation Project” in Atomic Energy Central
School.
• Selected for all India project “Hydal Power Generation Project” on behalf of Atomic Energy Central School,
Manuguru.
• Presented paper on “Communication Satellites” in MICROCOSM 2006 on behalf of MGIT
