Objective
To contribute my petrophysical skills to an exploration, production, or
development team focused on West Coast, Gulf Coast, or Middle East basins.
Capabilities Profile
Manager of Petrophysics, Senior Operations Geologist, Project Engineer, and
Petrophysicist, accumulating 26 years experience in well log evaluation
techniques, well completion, perforating, cementing, drill stem testing,
and the integration of sidewall and conventional core results. I also was
involved in training for new engineers. I have a strong work ethic, proven
leadership abilities, and good communication skills.
EXPERIENCE
AVASTHI Cons., Houston, Tx . Sr. Petrophysicist Consultant (Apr 2008- Mar
2009)
Worked for REPSOL YpF of Spain on one of their Argentina projects as Senior
Petrophysical consultant with an integrated multi-national team of
engineers. Duties involved the support of multi-mineral interpretations in
highly complex carbonate and shaly sandstone reservoirs for the
visualization and conceptualization phases of a study utilizing IP
(Interactive Petrophysics of Schl.) software. Duties included log
normalization, rock typing, cutoffs, core data interpretation, evaluation
and optimization of development concepts, and preparation of evaluations
for field development
FUGRO-JASON,Petrophysicist,Employee,Houston,Tx.(Oct.2007- Apr . 2008 )
Worked in Venezuela as Senior Petrophysicist for PDVSA with a team of
engineers from different disciplines in an integrated reservoir delineation
project. Duties involved using Landmark, Halliburton, and Petroworks
software to validiate, QC, and normalize wireline open and cased hole logs
from different service companies and core and formation water analyses for
dynamic reservoir interpretation. Multi-mineral lithology interpretations
involving thin bedded oil and gas producing shaly sand reservoirs were
prepared and decisions made for the drilling of oil, gas, and water
injection wells.
Schlumberger,Petrophysicist,Consultant,Trinidad and Tobago (2007/May-
Sept.07)
Completed a feasibility study of an offshore field for Repsol YPF, in
Republic of Trinidad & Tobago as Senior Petrophysicist, Consultant.Working
with an international team from different disciplines. Evaluated the
protential of young turbiditic sandstones, producing from 34 zones,by using
Schlumberger's Petroview Plus, and Interactive Petrophysics softwares
.Getting the framework done,we mainly worked on quality control and
editing of all wireline and MWD logs, integration of wireline and
production data to get better saturation, and permeability, porosity
agreement with reservoir conditions, normalization of wireline logs to get
better clay content and mineralogy to create a living static model for the
reservoir studies.
IHS Energy, Houston, Tx., USA, Petrophysicist (Jan.2007-May, 2007)
Quality control, editing and merging of all kinds of open hole electrical,
and porosity logs recorded by different wireline and MWD Mud Log service
companies as reference to Oil Companies requirements with using Powerlog
software. Applied petrophysical interpret - tation skills and
experience, especially focused on Gulf Coast, Midland, Africa, Alaska and
Middle East data parameters.
Knowledge Reservoir, Houston Tx., USA,Petrophysicist,Consultant (2006-
2007)
Part time consultancy for BP America Inc.'s Wamsutter tight gas sandstone
project. using Petcom's PowerLog Software. Duties included the
normalization of GR and interpretation of shaly gas producing intervals.
TPAO (Turkish Petroleum Co.,Exploration Group)Operations Geologist (1990-
04)
Involved in projects focused on the delineation of fractured Cretaceous
carbonate reservoirs found in southeastern Turkey and throughout the Middle
East. Applied state-of-the-art Schlumberger wireline well-log evaluation
techniques. Evaluated thin, tight, oil and gas bearing Eocene and Miocene
age sand reservoirs in the Thrace Basin and planned well completion and
workover programs. Utilized wellbore data to prepare subsurface maps and
cross sections to integrate new well data into the regional picture.
TPAO, Manager of Petrophysics (1985-1990)
Evaluated all wireline logs taken by the company and made recommendations
for perforations, well completions, and cementation. Trained company
engineers on wire-line log techniques and assisted the exploration group
regarding logging and interpretation needs. Prepared annual logging expense
budgets and closely monitored the daily expenses submitted by service
companies.
TPAO, Petrophysicist (1980-1985)
Witness to many well site company logging operations ( Schlumberger &
Halliburton) Made quick look evaluations of hydrocarbons present in the
target reservoirs and infor- med supervisors of my findings; the purpose of
which is to determine if the well should be abandoned. Key deliverables
from well site included water saturation, porosity, water resistivity, and
net pay values. Later performed more detailed analysis in theproces -
sing center, including shifts of core to log depth, derived permeability
values were integ- rated into these analyses as well as fracture data from
dipmeters and image logs and the adjustment of Vshale clay content to the
appropriate water saturation equation . Lab-derived permeability values
were integrated into these analyses as well as fracture data from dipmeters
and image logs
TPAO,Mudlogger (1978-1980)
Well-site work that included description of cuttings, monitoring of the
hydrocarbon gases and visual shows, mud weights, pit volumes, and drilling
activities.
