Experience Summary:

I am an ambitious, efficient, dedicated and self-motivated

what is necessary and go the extra mile for the company.

Employment Summary:

March, 2005 - Present

When I joined EJM, a roadway design engineering consultant firm, it

had recently been purchased by new owners who made me their first

full-time new hire. With little senior management and a lot of

ambition, I capitalized on the opportunity to manage projects and

personnel immediately with little or no direct supervision. Many

difficult decisions and long nights have been common, but I

continually meet or exceed these challenges while gaining valuable

learning experiences in the process.

EJM is now one of the leading DBE consultant firms in the

Chicagoland area in both lighting and traffic signals. My

leadership through project, personnel and IT management has been

instrumental to the firm's success and growth, as well as my

willingness to do what is necessary.

I have successfully managed and designed several roadway and airport

lighting projects concurrently at EJM, producing photometric

studies, roadway lighting layouts, wiring diagrams, voltage drop

calculations, specifications and cost estimates, usually under tight

deadlines. I have expertise in ITS designs as well; including CCTV

systems (both wireless and fiber), RTMS, DMS, ramp queue detectors

and WIM installations. I have been responsible for QCQA on all

outgoing electrical projects during my tenure, which have had

minimal construction questions or revisions.

I had the privilege to work directly for the Illinois Tollway as a

field consultant in 2009, where I designed, inspected, debugged,

modified and integrated both tower and pole mounted CCTV's, RTMS and

DMS installations throughout the system. I resolved a number of

construction problems during that arose, ranging from electrical

services for lighting controllers and cameras to construction

revisions for design modifications created on the field, which I

concurrently dealt with several contractors, superiors and clients.

Through my determination and hard work, an impressive 35 mile long

wireless camera network now exists within the system.

The challenging tasks I routinely meet involve managing a balance

among engineering recommendations, meeting client deadlines and

requests with personnel availability, and budget with scope of work.

I concurrently balance these demands of the electrical department

while also personally maintaining a standard of excellence for these

electrical designs, designing my own projects, providing cost

proposals for future projects and resolving any IT issues that

arise.

My first engineering experience was at KEI, which was a roadway

design engineering consultant firm. During my employment, I

conducted photometric studies, designed roadway lighting, performed

voltage drop calculations, wrote specifications and estimated

construction costs. This work required much coordination with many

other design disciplines, which required constant coordination with

other design teams and engineering firms.

Given minimal training, I was expected to take on a number of

projects while adjusting to new engineering concepts, a variety of

software and draft my own design. I was able to meet these

challenges due to my strong work ethic and ability to quickly learn

and apply new concepts. Experiences at the currently defunct firm

have resulted in a meticulous and relentless emphasis of quality

management and engineering ethics.
