DELL INC., Round Rock, TX 2000-2010

Senior Mechanical Engineer, 2006-2010

Key areas of contribution include:

Next Generation Latitude Products: Led mechanical product definition investigations for two

Latitude notebooks. Drove decisions that optimized marketing, industrial design, and engineering

requirements. Led analysis of manufacturability, cost, weight, and size tradeoffs, using

Pro/ENGINEER modeling to drive consensus.

Eduardo Escamilla 2

Latitude Z600: Led the mechanical development of notebook with innovative features while

engaging with a Taiwan-based original design manufacturer (“ODM”) new to Dell. Drove initiative

with ODM to adapt ODM’s notebook validation process to develop test suite that did not compromise

optimized size, weight, performance, and manufacturability goals.

Tablet XT Media/Battery Slice-Developed and implemented dampened latching mechanism that

became the model for slices and docks going forward.

Mechanical Development Engineer, 2000-2006

Collaborated with cross functional teams from concept to mass production for various products.

Generated conceptual proposals. Performed cost analysis, weight and form factor analysis, scheduling,

documentation, tolerance analysis, and stress analysis using ProMechanica. Conducted reliability testing,

shock and vibration testing, electro-magnetic compatibility testing and supervised tooling and

manufacturing. Designed and maintained various mass produced parts and assemblies as part of in-house

design team. Interfaced directly with suppliers for manufacturability considerations and negotiating

critical to function feature tolerances. Generated control drawings, reviewed, and signed off on first

article inspections.
