BSkyB Customer Management

Client: British Sky Broadcasting Group Technology: ESQL, SOA, Java, IBM Message Broker V6

Description

To overcome the risk, complexity and cost associated with the several legacy systems, British Sky Broadcasting group initiated a

project to replace this. The purpose of this project is to replace the current legacy systems with a SOA model. The new architecture

model will not only reinitiate Sky’s existing business support system functionality, but will also be robust and flexible enough to

cope with the market expansion propositions for the future. Agile software development methodologies were practiced in this

project.

Roles and Responsibilities

Analysis and understanding of client Business and the existing systems.

Preparation of Functional and Design documents.

Developed client modules for the SOA integration.

Integral part of Estimation and planning the schedule for the development cycle.

Involved in designing flows to meet the business requirement using Websphere studio.

Implementation and Adoption of Enterprise SOA initiative.

Define services based on requirements and data models.

Define data mapping between systems for a given service.

Designing a service oriented architecture using middleware to replace the existing system.

Create message set that generates a WSDL for Web Services.

Developing message flows using IBM Message Broker V 6.0 to validate the incoming message, add additional data to the

message which is followed by dynamically routing of the incoming messages based on the Content of the message.

Writing the transformation logic in ESQL to process the incoming message.

Designing the Queue clusters for various testing and production environments in MQSeries.

Code deployment in different testing environments.

Issue resolution during Integration testing and System testing phases.

Mentor and coach team members.

EAI Message Broker Implementation

Client: Wellpoint Inc. Technology: ESQL, Java, IBM Message Broker V5

Description

During the merger of Anthem and Wellpoint, the frontend applications were integrated. The needs of developing a new message

flow application to satisfy the front end systems (CallCare Browser, IVR etc.) was implemented by creating new adapters and

connectors for consuming applications. This was implemented through an Enterprise Service Bus using WebSphere Broker. The

primary activities involved; Translation of business needs to service requirements represented using sequence diagrams, XML

schema, web service specifications etc.; creation of message flow specifications to implement message flow applications meet these

service requirements, programming and testing of message flow applications, supporting integration and acceptance testing of these

message flow applications and supporting deployment of these message flow applications into production.

Roles and Responsibilities

Requirement analysis, development and documentation of message flow.

Developing message flows using IBM Message Broker V 5.0 and writing the transformation logic in ESQL to enrich the

message and dynamically route it to the appropriate system.

Developing the Aggregation frameworks. In this framework an initial request that is received by the message flow,

representing a collection of related request items is split into the appropriate number of individual requests to satisfy the

subtasks of the initial request. Replies from the subtasks are combined and merged into a single reply, which is returned to

the original requester (or another target application) to indicate completion of the processing.

Design and development of Message Sets for CWF (custom wire format) and XML format.

Developed message flow which dynamically route the incoming message based on its data. Parse the incoming data using

the message sets. Writing the transformation logic in ESQL and rerouting the data dynamically to its destination

Independent unit testing the message flows in the development environment.

Code reviews before delivery to ensure zero defects.

Deployment of message flow and message set in UAT environment.

Performance tuning of the code.

Technical issue resolution during production deployment.

Internship

CODE MINER Duration: August 2005 to July 2006

Client: HP Technologies, Bangalore Technology: Linux, Eclipse, JDBC, MySQL

Description

The “Code Miner” project is an answer to the difficulty a programmer faces while searching the right reusable code for his purpose.

The purpose of the project was developing a schematic search capable interface to the end user wherein a programmer can type the

request for a particular problem and all the available previous work, which dealt with similar area of requirements, is listed. The

project aims at enhancing the reusability of code by providing quick and effective search of all the code modules, which have been

previously developed and stored in the central code repository for the same.

Co sequential operations involved the coordinated processing of two or more sequential lists to produce a single output list.

Sometimes the processing results in merging, or union, of the items in the input list; some times the goal is a matching or

intersection of the item in the lists; and other times the operation is a combination of matching and merging.
