12 Final Improvements, Carteret, NJ - This $80M project included excavation
and backfilling with Grade A and Grade B material, demolition of an old
utility building and construction of a new utility building, construction
of additional toll booths, and a new bridge with new ramps and piers. The
project also consisted of redesigned roads, retaining walls, streetscape
walls, new intersections, and utility relocation and installation.
PANYNJ SIRR North Connection to Chemical Coastline (Elizabeth, NJ) - This
$40M project included excavation, pile driving, bridge construction with
new piers and abutments, bridge pier rehabilitation, removal of existing
railway track and installation of new railway track, and new road work with
drainage and guide rails. The project aims to connect rail service between
Staten Island, NY, and the nation's rail network through Elizabethtown, NJ
and to enable the shipment of international cargo containers, municipal
solid waste, and other industrial freight currently transported by truck
thru new railway line.
PANYNJ New Wide Load Truck Parking Area (Goethals Bridge in Elizabethtown,
NJ) - This $2.25M wide load truck parking lot project in Elizabethtown, NJ
included excavation, backfill, grading paving, and lighting of the site.
As cost estimator provided take off quantities and cost estimates for
concrete and steel structures, piers, abutments, roadways milling - paving,
utilities, and site-excavation. Reviewed, prepared and maintained
submittals and utilities, and site-excavation. Compiled cost information
and prepared production reports by entering production quantities from
Forman's reports in cost system using eCMS software. I documented all extra
(T&M) work from submitting work orders to payment application and then
providing information on queries from auditors during audit for extra work
(T&M) audit report. In order to perform cost analysis actual costs were
determined using union labor wages with taxes, fringes and benefits,
equipment rental blue book rates for equipment rental cost, actual material
and subcontractor cost and then Verified against estimated cost
(quantities) for labor, materials, equipment, tax, insurance and
subcontractor's cost as project moves ahead.
As an Asst. Project Engineer / Office Engineer reviewed plans,
specifications and utility drawings. Prepared, reviewed and processed
change orders, payment requisition, submittal packages, and RFI's for
timely response and approval from engineers and owner. Ordered / Released
Materials for job site and ensured their availability with efficient
utilization. Prepared and maintained various logs for tracking shop
drawings, contract drawing and documents, submittals, RFI'S, change orders,
production quantity and material, pile driving logs as determined necessary
for a project completion on time within contracted budget and time.
Assisted in finalizing sub contractors by reviewing their bids and reviewed
and processed subcontractors work orders/change orders and their payment
applications. Acquired all close out materials including warranties, as-
built, and the final payment application on completion of work from sub
contractors. I was responsible for organizing and maintaining project
records per organization's record keeping procedure and reviewing foremen
report for proper coding, preparing and submitting field work order for
contract work and extra work as well. Maintain all underground utilities by
scheduling regular NJ One Call Mark out requests for construction area.
Periodic site walk to monitored jobsite construction progress and safety
issue supervising labors and subcontractors. Identified deficiencies and
expedite immediate corrective action and generated progress photograph on
job site. Physically measured as-built quantity prepared as-built drawings.
Created punch list for completed sections of the project and worked on
these items to be repaired then inspected to close out the project.
Parrello Inc.; Hopatcong, NJ - PANYNJ Howland Hook Marine Terminal Pavement
Rehabilitation, Howland Hook Marine Terminal, Staten Island, NY Asst.
Project Engineer - The scope of work in this $5M project included was
milling and paving around the weighing station and replacing the concrete
pads from entry to exit of the weighing station at Howland Hook Marine
Terminal.
As Cost Estimator Coordinated with multiple disciplines, suppliers, and the
client for quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and value engineering.
Performed quantity takeoffs using CSI Format and prepared and summarized
estimates. Analyzed and performed cost analysis to assist PE in identifying
sub contractors. Performed cost evaluation of projects using HCSS Heavy Bid
for review.
An Assistant Project Engineer performed preliminary site investigation and
feasibility studies, reviewed drawings plans and specifications to develop
criteria on new work. Attended project site pre bid meetings, site tours
and post -bid reconciliation meeting as required. Reviewed, tracked and
processed submittals for materials and shop drawings to get approval on
time. Inspected, anticipated and coordinated the flow of construction in
order to meet projected schedule. Supported PE obtains bids from qualified
sub-contractors, oversee sub-contractors payment requisition, completing
the contract within schedule and on time and organized billing process for

various projects throughout New York City. Executed compaction and
laboratory soil analyses and performed tests using a Nuclear Density Gauge
to determine adequacy of strength of foundation and asphalt. He performed
on-site inspection and QA/QC testing for concrete, mortar, and grout using
air entrap gauges and Flow Cone and Windsor tests probes. Inspected pile
driving and pinning, examined reinforced steel structures to conform to
design drawings, and inspected structural steel and joint welding using
