Taught and influenced groups of 30 male & female population ages 35 and

over healthy sexuality including violence prevention and intervention,

HIV/STD prevention, and the promotion of mature intimate relationships.

Educated importance of Men's Health Awareness and Facilitation. Created

strong network in health community in the Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda

and Contra Costa Counties involving, inspiring, motivating, and providing

effective resources for barriers, and one on one counseling for men over

50.

Integrated natural erectile dysfunction and sexual fitness methods to

reduce performance anxiety while increasing sexual potency, which enable

them to promote healthy and safer sexual relationships in their peer

populations. Participants taught each other ways to negotiate sexual

situations with skits, ice breakers, and group work. Participants were

inspired and motivated with more confidence, knowing their limits,

recognizing danger zones, assessing risk factors, and respecting their own

and their partners' needs.

Reinforced and collaborated practical skills training for healthy sexuality

which promoted clients to learn how to a) provide accurate, timely

information; b) apply behavior change theory to real-life situations; c)

create and produce sexual health education events (interactive

presentations; health fairs; guest lectures) Students learned to recognize

and address co-factors which increase the risk of AIDS/HIV infection, such

as alcohol and drug use, sexual abuse and assault, low self-esteem and poor

communication skills. Students were equipped to identify cycle of violence

and rape prevention techniques as well as characteristics of a healthy,

mature, nonviolent intimate relationship. 85% participants were pre-

qualified for employment in the HIV/STI field to work in a variety of

community-based, public and private health and social service settings.

Men's Health Outreach

Promoted and recruited an audience of 100 men and women ages 50 and over

for community health event sponsored and hosted at local lounge and bars

for five consecutive months from March 2009 until August 2009. Focused on

how obesity development can contribute to high risk health factors and

chronic health conditions such as; diabetes, coronary heart disease,

stroke, and sexual dysfunction. Taught prevention and recovery strategies

to increase awareness and healthy communication to reduce obesity and adapt

healthy lifestyle change for personal development and their families.

Utilized learner-centered techniques for motivation and inspired healthy

eating, physical activity, food preparation, and how to purchase food for

healthy living. Participants were encouraged to share their voice about

feelings, needs, and support needed to adopt healthy behavior change.

Participants were encouraged to provide music, food, and preparations to

reinforce obesity prevention is a community lifestyle change.

Involved 30 year experienced local health professionals and individuals

from Alameda County, community base organizations, and private sectors to

provide health presentations and resources to get screened. Ninety of

participants were excited that I had the courage to educate and promote

healthy lifestyle changes to a non-traditional setting and now have the

confidence to get screened. Relationships were strengthened among

participants and now other business owners have requested my presence at

their establishments.
