Role Dimensions: Managing the functional plans of Project Services (Project
Systems, Planning, Budgeting, Cost control, Procurement, Logistic and
Project accounts) as main automation contractor role on Fort Hills Oil
Sands Project for Petro-Canada. Fort Hills is an integrated mining and
upgrading project, with the final targeted capacity of 280,000 b/d of
synthetic crude.
Main responsibilities on the project were:
. FEED Automation engineering coordination among 11 different EPCs
involved in the respective Silo engineering concept. Continuous
synchronization with the EPCs on various schedule anchor-points,
matching resource loading while avoiding over committing early and
reducing total feed cost as the main focus at this stage.
. Acting in the Agency role for the client in procurement and managing
the complete procurement, supply chain, logistics, invoicing and
payable cycle. This responsibility included Client capital costs
rollups and equipment tagging requirements as well.
. During FEED and detailed engineering, keeping track of TIC - Total
Installed Cost on a monthly basis, and administering the Management
of Change process as a control vehicle on the project.
