o Involved in a company wide risk management initiative in three areas:
lift loading/unloading, snowmobile operations and terrain park
management. Participated in weekly operations meetings, daily
meetings, training sessions, and observed and interacted with
operation groups on a day-to-day basis to reinforce the initiatives
strategies. The initiative was result and activity driven. Activities
included creating a snowmobile committee, meeting with directors,
managers and supervisors on a daily and weekly basis, developing a
relationship between the terrain park employees, ski patrol and risk
management, and analyzing lift related incident and utilizing risk
management techniques to reduced overall exposures. The results
demonstrated a 20 percent reduction in the number of accident
investigations in the first year.
o Involved in implementation of two RMIS programs. Spearheaded the
process in researching, selecting, purchasing and managing the Risk
Master database program. Played a key role in facilitating the Risk
Console database software program. Developed ad hoc reporting in both
programs for benchmarking purposes. Incorporated trend-reporting
procedures for lift operations, snowmobile operations and terrain parks
for a company wide initiative. Produced monthly loss reports and claims
analysis reports for financial reporting purposes.
o Participated in Keystone's Management Training Program by conducting a
two-hour risk management-training segment, which introduced future
managers to their role in identifying and reducing risk of incidents and
interfacing with the Risk Management group in the event of a

that covered property, auto liability, general liability, litigation,
and claims management and role-playing scenarios.
o Created, organized, directed and distributed a company-wide training
video for valet services within the hospitality division. Authored the
Valet Training Manual for distribution to all managed and owned hotels.
Promoted and reinforced policies through extensive training procedures
and follow up. Reduced the valet incidents by 20 percent.
o Collaborated with outside event organizers, in-house marketing groups
and legal department to review contracts and determine possible
conflicts and/or gaps in coverage for compliance with company's
insurance requirements, and monitored event organizer's certificates of
insurance to facilitate compliance with the organization's contract and
risk transfer policies.
o Conducted extensive on-site audits and evaluated hotel operations (both
owned and managed) with focus on life safety polices and procedures,
carbon monoxide management and premise liability exposures. Identified
weaknesses in carbon monoxide monitoring and participated in an
initiative to establish a comprehensive carbon monoxide monitoring
program for the hospitality division.
o Improved event checklist procedures for marketing group to effectively
manage high-risk events. Organized training sessions and developed

Resorts, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. Checklist
improved the hosting, planning, organizing and conducting of high-risk
events such as terrain park big air contests. Procedures and checklist
dramatically reduced the potential for catastrophic losses by ensuring
that all departments were involved with the process.
o Developed and advanced comprehensive procedures for investigating on
and off mountain incidents, including creating effective reporting
tools, initiating computer generated diagramming, and utilizing other
technologies to enhance investigative procedures such as range
finders, digital cameras, GPS devices, MS Power Point, and GIS
mapping. The program advanced the investigation department into the
21st Century and has been recognized and promoted by both the National
Ski Patrol and the National Ski Area Association.
