migrated the database schemas as per the business requirements in
production and testing environments. Re-linked and applied the relevant
patches for the production databases on upgraded Operating Systems and
mapped the applications on the newly created databases.
. Upgraded the database from version 9.2.0.5 to 10.2.0.3.
. Installation of CPU patches periodically.
. Extensively worked on Performance Tuning in different methods like
partitioning & analysis, SQL Hints, tuning the initialization and
storage parameters, creating and maintaining various types of indexes,
reorganizing tables, implementation of statspack/AWR, dbms_stats, Row
Chaining, locking issues, comparing schema objects, cached tables,
rebuilding tables/indexes, Memory/CPU/Disk IO utilization at DB level,
identifying the hung processes, checking network bottlenecks and
rollback segments, Deadlock contention, Rewriting the poorly running
Sqls/Plsql etc.
. Assisted in the migration of the RMAN catalog from Windows server to
Oracle Server and re-synced the databases. Configured RMAN backup for the
newly built databases. Automated export and import backups for
development servers using datapump. Created an auxiliary database using
RMAN..
. Set up the monitoring for the db activities like DB startup&shutdown,
Lsnr up&running, Compress Log, Space issues at database as well as OS
level etc.
. Used expdp/impdp utilities to migrate the data between the prod
servers. Migrated the perfstat schema to another database and analyzed
the reports by using exp/imp in order to release the space on
production systems.
. Installed 10g grid control on production systems for monitoring the
performance issues and experimented with features like cloning
databases etc.
. Was involved in the creation of a physical standby database in the
dataguard environment and automated the recover process as per the
business requirements.
. Responsible for preparing the documents on the completed assignments.
. Participated on on-call rotation for 24/7 and proficient with
troubleshooting and resolving various oracle issues and communcation
with Oracle support.
