professional who has developed or led the development of new or improved
machine designs that have saved my employers over $14,000,000. The
following examples demonstrate my ability to deliver results.
. Solved a critical product quality production problem for a food
processor through reverse engineering. Critical mechanical parts of a
mixing machine were redesigned and substituted, eliminating total
machine replacement, resulting in a multi-plant savings of over
$10,000,000.
. Replaced a commercially manufactured slicing machine that caused
constant process line shutdown, with a custom built unit. Total
savings over a multiple plant roll out amounted to $2,500,000, not
including the savings from elimination of down time.
. Directed the design, purchase, and installation of a robotic, multi-
station, cleaning and drying system, replacing a fluorocarbon process
being phased out by the EPA. The new equipment realized a cost savings
of over $1,000,000 per year in the cost of cleaning chemicals and paid
for itself in less than six months.
. Selected a pre-existing linear actuator to operate an aircraft antenna
mechanism, resulting in reduced design time and an $850,000 project
cost reduction through using the existing certification of the
actuator.
