Objective I am seeking a position as an executive assistant. Starting
from age 15 I have worked my way up through the veterinary
field. I started as a kennel attendant in a small general
practice and moved up to being a receptionist, technician,
and then doctor's assistant at a specialty hospital. I
continued to work while completing my Bachelor's degree.
Most recently I was a home-based field representative for a
pet insurance company. I enjoyed fieldwork and maintaining
good relations with all the practices in my territory. I am
a fast learner and would love to be given the opportunity
to work for your company.
Experience Veterinary Field Educator- San Diego County, Orange County,
Arizona
2010-2011 Veterinary Pet Insurance, Brea CA
I was responsible for visiting hospitals, maintaining good
relationships, cold calling, making sure that all hospitals
were stocked with materials and answer all questions
clients had about pet insurance. I had to balance a budget,
complete expense reports, prepare travel itineraries,
network at veterinary conferences and perform presentations
for hospitals.
Veterinary Technician Supervisor, Receptionist, Advertising for
Hospital
2007-2010 Southern California Veterinary Specialty
Hospital, Irvine CA
I was a weekend supervisor of approximately ten to fifteen
other technicians. I was responsible for making sure the
days ran smoothly and efficiently. I worked under stressful
situations with other technicians and doctors, and had to
communicate well with pet owners about their concerns. I
helped train new technicians when they first started. I
managed heavy paperwork and phones as I also filled in for
receptionists when needed.
During the weekdays I also visited top referring hospitals
in the area to maintain good working relationships and to
make sure that they were satisfied with the service their
clients and patients received at our hospital. I also made
sure that they had plenty of our business cards, flyers
etc.
Veterinary Technician, Receptionist, Doctor's Assistant
2004-2007 Advanced Critical Care and Internal Medicine,
Tustin CA
I was responsible for keeping the doctor on schedule for
appointments and writing records. I would discharge all
patients with medications and assist with endoscopy and
ultrasounds. I would also admit patients to the hospital
and fill all prescriptions. For technician duties I would
administer medications to patients, take radiographs, place
IV catheters, monitor anesthesia for procedures and
surgeries, run bloodwork and restrain patients for
ultrasound. I helped assist in CPR when emergencies arose.
For reception I would triage patients that came through the
door, take deposits, have owners sign estimates and answer
heavy phones.
Veterinary Technician, Receptionist
2002-2004 Tustana Animal Hospital, Tustin CA
I started as a technician here. I restrained animals for
the doctor and ran blood samples. I kept up the paperwork
and was also responsible for all animals in the boarding
facility. Eventually I moved on to answering phones and
running the front office.
