Approximately twenty-eight years of construction estimating, construction

concreteCOST for Excel, WinEst Pro, Tradesmen's 3D Masonry estimation

Noresco Westborough, MA Senior Project Estimator Jan 2010 - PRESENT

Senior Project Estimator for $360 Million per year conceptual, design/build

construction, infrastructure and piping General Contracting Company.

Currently estimate all divisions as General Contractor for Educational and

Municipal new construction, renovation and upgrade projects. Generate

detailed divisional estimates and scopes of work for projects in

conjunction with sales and engineering. Used online project document and

information sharing system via company website (BIM). Developed quick

reference ECM Database spreadsheets to calculate component cost, sort by

activity for schedule of values, budgeting and scheduling, validate assumed

data and support to project development and project management departments.

Responsible for customer interview media materials, customer relationships,

contract administration, Business Development, and administration of

estimating department. Directly involved with contract negotiations,

Estimating & Scheduling Department Head for $45 Million per year Heavy

Industrial, Process Piping and Energy Project General Contracting Company.

Responsibilities included the daily estimation of Gas & Oil fueled Turbine

CoGen energy projects including ducting, breaching, equipment and controls

for turbine, boiler, bio-mass, process piping, clean room, high purity,

high pressure, gas line and steam conversions, including all related

divisions as General Contractor. Developed spreadsheets to calculate cost

coding, sort by activity for schedule of values, budgeting and scheduling,

provided data and support to preconstruction and accounting departments.

Responsible for customer interview media materials, contract

administration, Business Development, and administration of 8 employee

department. Directly involved with contract negotiations, subcontractor

negotiations and purchasing agreements. Trained and monitored junior

estimators and provided owner with departmental goals, means and methods to

Estimator for $360 Million per year General Contracting firm. Estimated

hard bid, conceptual, GMP, and construction manager (design/build) projects

throughout New England area. Provided takeoffs for all divisions for

Industrial, Medical, Commercial and Institutional new construction and

renovations. Attended site walk-thru, obtained and transmitted drawings and

specs to prequalified subcontractors, estimated self-perform masonry work,

confirmed subcontractor takeoff and scope as per specification and

generated leveling sheets for use by purchasing, calculated general

conditions and overhead costs (indirects), confirmed fees, permits,

escalation factors, bond and insurance costs, determined wage rates, T & M

rates, utilization of unions, market recovery, and grant potential. Worked

directly with clients and architects on conceptual drawings, coordinated

MEP design/engineering and calculated GMP on a square foot basis. Developed

pre-construction scheduling and attended interview presentations with

project executive, project manager and marketing department. Utilized a

number of available resources to locate and track potential projects.

Developed value engineering pro forma identified long-lead time items,

generated proposals and correspondence, including RFI's with clients.

12/2006

Estimator for $12MM per year MWBE General Contractor concentrating in

federally funded construction projects. Performed take-offs and proposal

generation for military, federal and state government projects. Developed

data-base and standardized criteria for prequalifying subcontractors.

Responsible for estimating of Negotiated and Lump-Sum (Hard Bid) projects.

Generated bid schedule, supervised document control, maintained and

distributed all project documentation and addendums. Worked in unison with

project management staff and purchasing. Acted as Business Development

contact for new clients and potential customers.

Projects included NH Department of Fish & Game, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard,

State of New Hampshire Liquor Commission, NH Air Force National Guard, FAA

Bechtel/Becon Construction Houston, TX/Boston, MA Structural Steel

Estimator 11/1986 - 9/2002 $65K

Project Manager/Change Order Estimator for projects in the Oil, Gas, and

Chemical division working in the Golden Triangle/Gulf of Texas for $680

Million per year engineering firm. Calculated take-off of structural and

miscellaneous steel platform construction for projects ranging from $20 -

$130 million of new and existing petroleum distillation and processing

plants. Heavy focus on design build of steel platforms, stainless steel and

aluminum fabrication for coastal site-specific loads. Transferred to

Boston, MA location in 1998 to work on 161 miles of interstate roadway for

Boston Central Artery/Tunnel project that elevated and tunneled underground

turnpike from route 93 to Logan Airport via a third harbor tunnel. Project

included massive demolition within confined space, heavy excavation, heavy

highway, underground utility, tunnel and structural steel bridgework.

Project was a joint venture with Parsons Brinkerhoff and total project

value was allotted at over $14.8 Billion.
