- The codec comprised of the basic compression building blocks like transform coding

(DCT), quantization, motion estimation and compensation and entropy coding.

- Network simulation with packet errors for measuring the video quality in PSNR.

• Implementation of SNR Scalable video codec.

- Scalable codec implemented with SNR scalability for generating base layer and

enhancement layer.

- Tested and gathered results for the designed hybrid video codec for varying packet

losses and its affect on the video quality in terms of PSNR.

• Implementation of a MATLAB based network simulator for testing degradation in video quality

due to uniform and random packet losses.

- Used for testing the performance of the proposed and implemented video codec.
