OBJECTIVE
Seeking an electrical engineer position with a progressive and forward thinking company where I
can use my skills and build a career.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Good knowledge of computer operating systems. Computer upgrade, PC configuration,
installation of hardware and software, some programming language (C/C++ language, Verilog,
Visual basic, Matlab etc.), AutoCAD and assembly language.
Also proficient with MS Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power point, Outlook, etc.), Windows
operation systems
EXPERIENCE
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority: Washington D.C.
October 2008 – Present
Train Electrical Engineer
• Run Diagnostic tests to ensure proper working condition of various components and
operating system of the commuter trains using PLC and HMI platforms both under 750
volt and 37 volts power supply. Other components worked on include Eproms and other
programmable chips.
• Work with mechanics in servicing the electrical components in the trains.
• Run diagnostic tests, detect problems and implement solution processes. Running RF
signal test on train antenna to central control and also performing the VSWR test to verify
1:1 radio antenna frequency.
• Replace defected equipment and train parts. Also work with mechanical engineer and
mechanics to fix mechanical problems that affect electrical operation of the trains.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performing work
in the manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
• Work both in the office and on site (train workshop, train yard, and main line) reading
and implementing design on real time engineering. This includes giving feed back and
recommendation to design engineer for improvements and modification.
Northrop Grumman via Technology Transfer Services: Elkridge, MD
February 2010 – April 2010 (Temporary Contract)
Technical Developer
• Verified, corrected, and created documentation for equipment. Researched parts book and
made change orders. Basically worked on a multi-million dollar U.S. postage sorting
machine using AutoCAD and a privately developed software for simulating equipment
response to testing. Some test analyses were also done using Matlab to configure
expected response to adjustments. Test results were recorded using Microsoft Excel and
Word.
• Read graphic diagrams, blue prints and schematics to collaborate with equipment
documentation. Mostly worked on electromechanical equipment monitoring control,
pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
D.C Water and Sewage Authority; Washington D.C. May 2007 – September 2008
Project Engineer (Intern) (Department of Engineering and Technical Services)
• Worked on series of projects in the DC WASA facilities. Working with the project
engineer and contractor in Rehabilitating and upgrading various pumping stations (i.e.
work consists of furnishing all labor, services, materials, tools, insurance, and equipment
necessary for the removal of existing equipment and material, cleaning rebuilding and
installation of existing equipment, and installation of new equipment and materials).
• Worked with resident engineers and contractors to ensure proper performance of all
pumping stations. Worked on control systems and mechanical hydraulic/ pneumatic
systems on a PLC and HMI platform.
• Reviewed and made corrections to technical documents bringing outdated mechanical
devices and manuals up to current standards and expectations.
• Interpreted and corrected schematics and also read blueprints (Electrical mechanical and
structural)
• Studied and implemented project contracts (i.e. inspecting work sites for contract
discrepancies and status of work).
• Ran electrical inspection on all electrical components in the pumping stations to include
sewage pumps, control systems, IT server equipment, power generation switchgears etc.
• Work both in the office and on site (sewage/ storm water pumping stations all around DC)
reading and implementing design on real time engineering. This includes giving feed
back and recommendation to design engineer for improvements and modification.
Accu. Count Inventory; Flingsburg, MD Jan 1999 – May 2007
Auditor and Data Entry Assistant
• Took inventory for major departmental stores, liquor stores and Gas stations, input data
into the system, made computations and analysis.
• Computer Software and Hardware upgrades and maintenance.
Oxko Corporation Inc; Annapolis, MD. May 2001 – August 2002
Electrical Engineer Intern and Web Developer
• Worked on a project called Quick Alert by Air Gizmos (an alert system for aircraft, a
device that alerted the pilot of voltage and vacuum loss)
• Studied product for reproduction and remodeling using C/C++ and Matlab.
• Redesigned, made necessary documentation, identified the components, drew schematics,
and designed a web site for the product. The schematics were done using AutoCAD or
Workbench.
• Worked on computer programs, upgrades, and reconfigurations.
