OBJECTIVE
The experience I have gathered during my last three executive level jobs
would allow me to add value to positions that fall into the following
categories:
. Portfolio Management and Manager Due Diligence
. Business Development and Strategic Planning
. Operations: back, mid, and front office
. Trade execution and Systems Analysis
. Compliance and Accounting
My primary goal is to join a growing firm in the investment industry that
is successful, operates with integrity, encourages a team atmosphere, and
fosters intellectual growth and professional development.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2008 - 2010 Lafayette Trading, LLC - Founding and Managing Member
. One of four founding members of a California-based Commodity Trading
Advisor.
. Lafayette offered a systematic model that traded, on a short-term
basis, equity index futures contracts in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
The program had a net of fees compound ROR of greater than 11% in its
nearly nine year history of managing real dollars.
. As the Managing Member, my primary responsibilities were:
. Business development - identified prospective clients, conducted
meetings, spoke at conferences, managed database reporting, and
created presentation material.
. Client relations - dealt with the needs and questions of
existing and prospective clients. Negotiated and analyzed FCMs
based on cost, counterparty risk, and tools offered.
. Compliance - licensing, document submission, and ongoing
compliance with the N.F.A.
. Legal - creation of all legal documents for the LLC including
offering documents.
. Accounting - maintenance of books; interfacing with accountants
for the LLC.
. Trading - handling of electronic and telephonic execution for
system generated orders in the futures markets.
. Research - vetted new quantitative ideas for the model and
studied the market applications/impact of any changes to the
algorithms.
2006 - 2008 Money Management Group, LP - SR VP Portfolio Development
. Hired to construct and manage a portfolio of externally built systems
that would provide an uncorrelated return stream to the $1B+ global
macro fund's discretionary trading and internally developed
quantitative systems.
. Instituted processes to find, analyze, and conduct due diligence
on managers. Conducted diligence on hundreds of managers and
maintained a database of over 1000 programs.
. Assets managed by external systems grew from zero to over
$275MM.
. Portfolio of systems produced a low volatility, 9% return, on
the assets managed.
. Established methodology to monitor system performance. Multiple
quantitative tools were used to analyze systems on trade-by-
trade, day-to-day, and month-over-month basis.
. Conducted performance calculations, audits, and attribution
analysis for all of the systems.
. Researched and managed a $200MM portfolio of Canadian oil and gas
royalty trusts.
. Took over the responsibility of managing the quantitative research
group of 10 employees.
. Handled trade execution for systems and discretionary traders in the
futures, securities, forward, swap, and spot F/X and fixed income
markets.
. Chairman of the seven person investment committee responsible for all
allocation and portfolio management decisions.
. Involved in ongoing presentations to prospective and existing
institutional clients about system risk, performance, and tools used
in evaluation.
2000 - 2006 Invesdex Ltd - COO/EVP Trading and Operations
Participated in the development of an Internet-delivered trading
interface for a Bermuda-based alternative investment firm. The firm
offered an OTC derivative, which competed with ETFs and multi-manager
investment platforms. Managed a $5MM software development project.
. Assisted in the development of the hedging algorithms employed by the
fully automated trade execution platform and tested all hedging
programs for accuracy and stability.
. Handled all manual trade execution and performed comprehensive trade
reconciliation for the daily asset and liability monitoring.
. Worked with auditors on all aspects of firm revenue and expenses to
insure accurate reporting in the financial statements.
. Created an index of managed futures programs that outperformed, on an
absolute return and risk adjusted basis, the other major indices in
this sector (S&P and Calyon-Barclay MF Indexes).
1999 - 2000 Champion Securities - Manager of Trading and Operations
. Managed all aspects of trade execution and reconciliation for a San
Francisco, California based alternative investment firm.
. Modeled the company's fee structure and conducted market analysis of
competitive products. The findings resulted in fee structure
reorganization and further profit stabilization.
. Negotiated fee structures with FCMs and handled the legal
documentation for the creation of accounts at new FCMs.
1992 - 1999 Professional Golf Career
I competed as an amateur golfer for three years after college. I then
