RE: Chief Financial Officer
Dear Sir or Madam::
As an accomplished financial professional and information technology
manager, I am writing to express my interest in the CFO position within
your bank. I offer a unique blend of education and expertise in the areas
of banking, finance, business, management, development, operations,
information technology, information security, organizational planning and
project management, marketing, human resources, employee benefits, and
government regulation. I am seeking to expand the scope of my experience
and serve the needs of your bank through my substantial existing experience
and my life long commitment to learning. My resume is enclosed for your
review. I am also able to provide a more detailed experience summary and
references upon request.
Most recently as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer and
Chief Security Officer with Jennings State Bank, I demonstrated acumen
while fulfilling a variety of responsibilities. In addition to managing a
bank holding company, I performed executive management functions at the
bank. I chaired the banks Operations Committee and sat on the Executive
Committee that was also the steering committee for information security. I
chaired the ALCO committee. I created policies for the Board of Directors
approval, reported to the Board and served on the Board. I conducted
internal risk assessments, managed information systems, negotiated
contracts, and ensured compliance with regulatory requisites.
I understand the principals of asset liability management. I am skillful
at measuring the banks interest rate risk in multiple scenarios and then
having the granularity to manage the risk and take steps to mitigate
exposure with tools like interest rate swaps to move the IRR within
acceptable Board determined parameters.
My many years of banking transactional expertise include most every aspect
of banking. I was the go to person for operations and IT issues that
manager's or staff needed answers to. If I did not know the answer, I
found the answer. I provided the tools and resources people needed to do
their jobs.
In my position as CIO and CSO, I became familiar with ISACA's IT Standards,
Guidelines and Tools and Techniques for Audit and Assurance and Controls
Professionals; CobIT; NIST 800 Series; the FFIEC Examination Handbooks; and
other standards and methodologies through various resources including
continuing education and numerous white papers.
In the area of internal audit I have the breadth and depth to manage an
integrated audit encompassing both financial focus and information
technology and information security. This includes audit requirements for
PCI (payment card industry).
My grasp of information systems and information security has been certified
by ISACA by me attaining their Certified Information Security Manger (CISM)
and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certifications. These
certifications are respected internationally.
As CFO and CIO of the Jennings Title Company, I supervised all phases of
the company's start-up with respect to IT software, IT networking, audit,
reporting (both IT and financial) and interacted with the CEO and COO on
various matters.
Finally, I have substantial and broad lending experience.
I offer a strong work ethic and the ability to take on individual and team
member responsibilities as required. I also possess excellent interpersonal
and communication skills and am proven at establishing meaningful
relationships. My experience not only includes leadership duties, but also
working as an effective member on project or operations teams.
In conclusion, I am well qualified for this position because of my
experience, training and certifications. I am confident I will prove to
be a valuable addition to your banks executive management and welcome the
chance to meet with you and further discuss my qualifications. Please
contact me at your convenience to arrange an interview. Thank you for your
time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Steven C. Jennings
