A Solution oriented IT Network Professional that specializes in the design,

implementation and troubleshooting of Enterprise-class networks. I am

actively seeking a challenging environment where I can make a significant

contribution through the use and augmentation of my professional skills.

Professional Experience

Artech Information Systems / Hewlett Packard, Houston, Texas 2008-2010

ITOC Level 3 Network Specialist

Key Contributions:

o Served as shift lead analyst in the Information Technology Operations

Center for the network team.

o Exceeded incident performance metrics for time-to-own and time-to-fix.

o Contributed frequently to the internal knowledgebase used for the

dissemination of technical subjects and problem resolution techniques.

o Successfully conducted escalation operations involving mission-

critical and high-availability corporate IT resources.

Daily duties were performed at HP's Houston NOC and consisted of

troubleshooting operational issues on their global network, assisted by on-

site support acting as hands and eyes. The principal means of communicating

with the network devices was through the command line interface. Problem

determination and network behavior involved the use of counters and

statistics available through the CLI, and troubleshooting and corrective

actions were accomplished via reconfiguration as required. The areas of

support responsibility covered all HP LAN, WAN and wireless connectivity,

as well as assimilated sites of acquired EDS network assets.

Deployed network equipment supported by the NOC team consisted of the

following:

L2 switches from the Procurve 4000M and 8000M families.

L2 and multilayer switches from Cisco in the 2900, 3500, 4500 and 6500

series.

Routers from Cisco in the 7200, 7300 and 7600 series.

Load balancers from Cisco in the CSS, CSM and ACE series.

Wireless devices from the Procurve product line.

Enterasys Networks, Houston, Texas 1995-2007

support, toward winning large accounts in competitive engagements.

Most notable cases include Aldine ISD, Centerpoint Energy and West

Orange Cove CISD.

o Took an active role in the development of Secure Networks education

material for Enterasys Systems Engineer Certification.

o Served as Enterasys onsite network engineer with Aldine ISD, Fluor

Corporation and the Houston Community College System for several

years, providing technical assistance to theirTechnical Services

departments in assuring network health and efficiency. Actively

involved in the application of technology solutions to address

business concerns.

o Managed customer network projects involving switches and routers,

wireless and security products from design through implementation.

o Developed and refined hand-off documentation to present to customers

following project completion.

Originally recruited to support Cabletron's sales force as a systems

engineer, I opted for a post-sales and network support role for greater in-

depth exposure to networking technologies and provided on-site technical

services and support to customers in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and

Arkansas. In 1999, I joined the Enterasys Professional Services unit and

undertook assignments in network design and management, policy and

security implementation and formal customer training. Working in

predominantly multivendor customer networks, it was expected that team

members would be proficient in the reconfiguration of competitive products

to achieve a successful integration of Enterasys devices.

Network devices installed and supported through Professional Services

included the following:

Multilayer switches from the Smartswitch product line, including the E6,

E7 and N series.

Routers from the SSR and X series.

VPN concentrators acquired through Indus River.

IDS and IPS appliances marketed under the Dragon family name.
