PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Randall County Sheriff's Department, Amarillo, Tx
February 2003 - Present
Position: Deputy Sheriff
Duties: I currently work in the Courts and Arraignments department. In
this capacity I work to facilitate county pleas. I am responsible for
filing all required paperwork and assisting the local judges in
arraignments. I deal with courts, attorneys, and other agencies in a
positive manner. I am also called upon to assist with prisoner transport
when necessary.
Potter County Sheriff's Department, Amarillo, Tx March
1983 - February 2003
Position: Deputy Sheriff Sergeant
Duties: I began my career with Potter County Sheriff's Department as a
Deputy Sheriff working in the jail. I transferred to Patrol as Deputy
Sheriff March 25, 1985. Patrol Duties included enforcing the laws of the
State of Texas. I wrote incident reports as necessary. I initiated and
participated in the arrest of subjects as required by State law. I was
responsible to transport prisoners safely and securely to prisons or to and
from other states as ordered by the court. On January 1, 1991 I was
transferred to the Warrants/Civil Division of the department. In this
position I served arrest warrants and civil process as directed by the
courts. I maintained contact with the courts and the County and District
Attorneys offices. I was promoted to Sergeant on July 15, 1991 and served
as Patrol Sergeant, Jail Sergeant, Communications Sergeant, and supervisor
to employees. As a supervisor it was my responsibility to ensure all
employees met training obligations. I performed employee evaluations along
with inspection of employees to ensure uniform and equipment requirements.
I was responsible to work with other agencies and to maintain good working
relationships with these entities. I also took on additional duties as
assigned to me by the Sheriff.

Position: Civilian Jailor
Duties: I worked as lead jailor on the afternoon shift in the city jail. I
was responsible for ensuring that my co-workers performed their assigned
duties correctly. I was also responsible for the safe booking and housing
of persons legally booked into the facility. I participated in
fingerprinting each person who was booked into the jail, mug shots were
also part of this identification process.

Interface with all the Motor Sergeants and provide support as needed.
Ammunition section chief. Acquire, load, and transport or ship howitzer
ammunition components by road and air. Supervise the drivers and handlers.
Insure the vehicles were maintained at the driver level and appropriate
maintenance/repairs were carried out in a timely manner. Vehicle
operations and maintenance, logistical movement of supplies by road and
air. I was Honorably Discharged upon completion of my enlistment.
