within major auto groups and service corporations in small and midsize

SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS & SKILLS

[pic] Reversed half million dollars of State Sales Tax audit. I served as

a Controller for Momentum BMW (part of Sonic Automotive, Inc.) where I

was faced with a $500,000 sales tax audit charge on the second month of

taking over the store. However, through open communications with my

team and the state auditors, strategic planning and out-of-the-box

thinking, the final charge of the audit ended up at ONLY $50,000

including penalties and interest.

[pic] Fraud and Forensic Analysis helped me uncover three different theft

and embezzlement situations. Wholesale cash embezzlement for a

Washington dealership client resulted in the successful insurance claim

of $500,000 covering three years worth of claims and prosecution of the

employee. Body Shop cash embezzlement for a Los Angeles dealership

client resulted in immediate dismissal and eventual prosecution of two

employees while I took over as interim body shop manager. Parts and

Body shop theft involving inter -department collusion in which I traced

back to the prior two years with a total of $500,000.

[pic] Helped increase net profit by 15% through expense control reduction,

streamlining and consolidation of processes. Served as Group Controller

for Momentum Audi and Momentum VW and Controller for Momentum BMW where

I played an extensive role in implementing expense control reduction

which was not just limited to overhead expenses, but also in product

and service cost analysis. I consolidated and re-negotiated vendor

contracts and agreements and brought some outsourced services in-house

without increasing any additional overhead. In fact, this was done

with a 22% staff reduction. This was made possible by re-engineering a

majority of the business processes and by re-training the staff on a

more efficient and technologically driven process.

[pic] Provided a one-stop shop means for the company to meet SOX compliance

while transitioning to a new accounting business model despite an

uncertain environment. While at Auto Nation, Inc., I was tasked to

create and develop a sustainable SOX compliance team in Dallas, TX

which needed to enhance the nationwide shared service accounting

resource center consolidation model that the company was pioneering. A

wide-scale back office consolidation model has never existed in the

automotive industry before and there were numerous challenges. I

worked and developed a web-based SOX compliant reconciliation tool for

a multiple store platform which was rolled out nationwide to all the

stores. This tool was fully sanctioned and approved to meet all the SOX

requirements.
