Testing Toolset using Object Oriented Programming and made it a
reusable component for future development and also much better and
easier to maintain.
- Proactively and voluntarily sought solutions to help peers in their
success by providing Perl/Tk GUI applications for them to work more
efficiently and easily.
- Independently and successfully developed and maintained new test
framework using CppUnit for unit testing.
- Independently and successfully developed and maintained new test
framework using Perl for automation testing.
- Ventured in new solutions and new technology, and independently and
successfully developed and maintained new test framework using Python

SOFTWARE ENGINEER Hewlett Packard October 1999 - March 2007
Large Enterprise Software Design, Development and Testing for HP Storage
Array Systems
- Played an important role in designing, implementing, coding, testing,
maintaining, and supporting innovative cluster fail-over software
known as HP Cluster Extension for XP and EVA Storage Arrays (HP CLX)
for over five years.
- Successfully designed and implemented HP CLX with other team members
using C/C++ and Object-Oriented programming languages. Developed
codes to ensure HP CLX system's flexibility to run on Windows
2000/2003 (32-bit and 64-bit) platforms, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, and
Linux. Participated in designing the system to extend a single
cluster solution over metropolitan or even global distances.
Developed the system so that it detects failures and automatically
manages recovery. Contributed also by making insightful
recommendations on new code development and reuse of the existing
code, which has significantly improved the development efficiency and
the overall system design quality.
- Successfully and independently developed and maintained a complex
Windows installation package for HP CLX using Installscript/MSI and
C/C++ codes.
- Responsible for UNIX and Windows systems testing and administration
such as installing and configuring Windows 2000/2003 (32-bit and 64-
bit) platforms, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, and Linux for large scale and
complex testing. Write efficient PERL scripts to test software
functionality. Troubleshooting, installing, configuring and upgrading
Windows 2000/2003 (32-bit and 64-bit) platforms, Sun Solaris 8 and 9,
IBM AIX, and Linux to support HP CLX system development.
- Configure network (LAN) routers and switches for each different
operating system in our lab for system testing. Configure fiber
channel switch such as Brocade switches in our SAN environment.
- Perform complex system setup for HP StorageWorks XP Arrays, HP
StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 5000, mid-range EVA Arrays,
fiber connections to the Arrays, and disk groups etc.
- Provide support and seek for collaboration with inter-departmental
teams on various projects at HP utilizing solid C/C++, JAVA and PERL
programming and UNIX and Windows Administration background.
Recognized by other teams and managers as a very efficient and self-
motivated team player.
- Actively seek for improvements and optimal solutions to the problems
in projects, such as taking minimal amount of time to created and
maintained HTML web pages to automate the process of requesting
license keys from a third party vendor, and setting up a web site for
our team using HTML, Javascript, MySQL, PHP, and Apache web server to
make sharing information among the team easier, thus, simplified the
process and saved team members valuable project time.
- Successfully developed a web-based dynamic Artificial Intelligence
Helpdesk System using Case-based reasoning theory to support the
California State University students and faculty with questions.
Database system was developed using MySQL. Web programming and case
based reasoning algorithm was implemented using PHP, JavaScript, HTML,
and Apache web server.
