Objective
'Everything must be placed in where it belongs' my motto as my career
started as an Auto Mechanic. An Auto Mechanic does not have time to look
for tools in his tool box, so he constantly organizes his tool chest.
Hence, the job that he's working on gets done faster and the one that is in
queue will be started quickly. Eventually, I realized I can automate
things by just thinking it through. I brought my mechanical aptitude into
the school of electrical engineering & technology. I took courses in
mechanical drafting both in two dimensional and 3-D drafting, as well as,
prioritizing my Throughout my career as an Automation Engineer, I have
tackled both the discrete and process automation.

Lean manufacturing based Automotive engine MAP sensor in ambient and
hot temperature test and convey equipment, involved designing
schematics, PLC, HMI programming. This equipment contained two Modicon
Compact 984 PLC and two GE QuickPanel HMI, two third party provided
cartridge handlers, and Watlow temperature controller for its rotary
curing furnace. ~ ~ handling multiple MAP sensors on a conveyor belt
of ambient machine into rotary curing furnace and finally testing at
85 Celsius oven. Prior to ambient testing an alphanumeric 2D bar
code reader determined the good or bad status of MAP sensors by
communicating with factory information system, if a sensor was bad a
test did not take place saving machine cycle time, utilizing closed
loop stepper motor the lead-frame was sent under test unit's prongs to
complete customer's required test. This machine consisted of a Modicon
Compact 984 Plus and HMI at ambient side, a Watlow temperature
controller at rotary oven, and another Compact 984 Plus and HMI at
testing under temperature. An improvement was made to the original
equipment and later shipped to internal Delco Electronics customer to
prevent loosening of pneumatics fitting tubes due to extreme heat in
rotary curing oven. The new equipment was featured with a 6K8 an 8-
axis Compumotor stepper motor controller.
Utilizing Modicon Compact 984 programmed substrate automated handling
system for curing furnace
Utilizing SLC5/03 PLC, improved the operation of a dual-nest vacuum
leak test machine for airbag module units, two aluminum shrouds came
down on modules which were inserted by an operator, once cycle was
started a light curtain paused the machine cycle upon interruption and
prevented pinch points.
Utilizing Omron CPMC2 PLC, designed controls for a turn-key machine to
insert Audio IC into its heat sink.
A ceramic substrate board cutting machine programmed with Modicon
Compact 984 to cut a 3 x 5 size substrate into small pieces which were
placed inside sensors such as MAP sensor
A semi-auto Weber screw driver for air bag module assembly line in
which an operator brought a pneumatic slide over tightening screws and
an attached Weber screw driver tightened and torque the screws to the
specification
A circuit board component's lead detection and inspection machine
pressed the components on a circuit board and a HMI display notified
the operator if components were seated correctly (green light) or not
(red light)
Adhesive dispensing robotic equipment consisted of 3-axis Seiko robot
to dispense glue on cover of electronic control module units. A PLC
controlled the start, stop, and hydraulic pump
To increase the assembly throughput, integrated additional bonders to
an existing line. Each new bonder was controlled by a Modicon PLC to
communicate with line PLC for trafficking IC's on RFID pallet. Upon
receiving a pallet bonder's PLC initiated the start, received cycle
done from the bonder, released the pallet for downstream operation
