PROFILE

A highly versatile wastewater treatment specialist with background as

both chemist and chemical engineer with over 20 years managing and

coordinating industrial and municipal projects. Projects included general

wastewater treatment and disposal, technical development, pilot plant

design and operations, designing and installing advanced treatment

processes, training operators, delegating manpower and administration,

implementing advanced concepts, and continued technical support to improve

performance, safety, regulatory compliance, and company profitability.

Included hiring of qualified personnel, contractors and consultants, and

managed 5 to 25 persons commensurate with the scope of the projects.

Expert in wastewater treatment technical issues and in the handling

and applications of specialty chemicals in refineries, chemical and

petrochemical plants, mining operations, and municipal plants for the

processing of waste streams including spent caustics, tank & process

blowdowns, cleaning waste streams (e.g. plant turn-arounds), BS&W's, out-of-

spec products, process washwater streams, plant process water, cooling

water circuits, biological wastes, and hazardous waste treatment and

disposal. Responsibilities also included sales & marketing of new design

concepts, chemicals and services to target and reach objectives, reduce

costs, financial and forecasting models, and produced work flow

illustrations to keep track of performance and budgets. Responsible for

budgets ranging to $5 MM annually per account. Presented weekly and

monthly progressions, manpower reports, and safety audits to both company

Board, employees and customers.

Major projects included pretreatment of industrial hazardous wastes,

primary treatment and clarification, biological treatment and augmentation,

secondary treatment and clarification, sludge dewatering, tertiary

treatment, and final outfall quality and monitoring. Developed and used

specialty chemicals to improve performance and prevent upsets. Specialty

chemicals included inorganic and organic polyelectrolyte coagulants and

flocculants, chemical oxidation, oxygenation, and mutant microorganism

enhancements.

Expert in all aspects of wet chemistry including manual and automated

instrumental methods of analysis. Extensive electrical and electronics

background including PLC control systems, panel layouts and programming.

Highly experienced in EPA and multi-State environmental regulations for

waste, wastewater, and air quality monitoring and reporting per RCRA, Title

V, CERCLA, SARA Title III, and NPDES regulations with additional expertise

in FIFRA, HAZMAT, DOT, and IATA classifications. Provided sales and

TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER

Peragen Systems, LLC, Houston, Texas 9/2001 - Present

Pioneered and managed Technical Department for environmental

wastewater treatment engineering in the development of new peracetic acid

disinfectant, formulations and applications. Responsibilities included

reaction chemistry, process design and development, fabrication and

operation of pilot plant, microbial analysis, PLC control systems, and

working with customers in their applications. Applications included

wastewater treatment & disinfection, potable water treatment, fuel

desulphurization, aseptic packaging, plus other specialty commercial

applications to epoxidize natural oils into environmentally friendly

chemical intermediates like renewable organic polyelectrolytes used in

wastewater treatment. Hired employees, contractors and consultants, and

managed 5 to 15 persons on a regular basis. Commercialized new advanced

water and wastewater treatment processes. Awarded US Patent.

. Technical Service. Pioneered the Technical Services Department and

constructed the on-site and field laboratories.

. Pilot Plant. Designed and commissioned pilot plant process to

BUSINESS MANAGER

MPRox, Inc., Dickinson, Texas Now dba MPR Services, Inc. & Tessenderlo

Commercialized the MPRox Business Unit for the treatment and disposal

of refinery and chemical plant hazardous wastes using a novel treatment

process. Initially responsible for all aspects of commercial development

including marketing, sales, process design, treatability, pilot plant

fabrication and operations, proposals, contracts, process fabrication,

installation, and process start-up. Company's success lead to being

purchased by Tessenderlo-Kerley, Inc. Marketing and Sales included first

introduction of technology into US refineries, obtained samples and sent to

company laboratory, analyzed the samples and determined amenability to

process, performed treatability studies and operated pilot plant, wrote and

presented customer proposals, wrote and executed contracts with suppliers

and customers, setup and installed process on-site, started-up processes,

plus continued customer support. Worked on local RCRA and Title V

monitoring, permits and reporting plus OSHA and NIOSH compliance. Hired

employees, contractors and consultants, and managed 5 to 15 persons on a

regular basis. Commercialized new advanced water and wastewater treatment

from conception to a successful business.

wastewater treatment plants.

o Evaluated various feedstocks for BTU and dry solids contents in pre-

incinerator operations.

< Bulking. Applied oxidation therapy to destroy filamentous bacterial

Responsible for research and development in both environmental

applications and industrial manufacturing processes using hydrogen peroxide

and other peroxygens. Provided technical services to company customers

including troubleshooting of organic peroxide intermediates for the

epoxidation of natural oils.

< UV Light Catalysis. Pioneered ultra-violet irradiation of hydrogen

peroxide for enhanced performance.

< Hydrogen Sulfide. Developed process for the catalytic oxidation of

< Heavy Metals. Conducted programs to remove iron and manganese from

potable ground water supplies.

< Decomposition. Determined safety standards for venting of decomposition
