ACHIEVEMENTS

• Hostal Orsi, Menorca, Spain. In 1997, my partner and I bought the Hostal Orsi, a long established

backpackers’ retreat in Mahon’s town center. Running the hostel was the most intensive, and most

rewarding experience of my life. It taught me much than I bargained for; administration, plumbing,

bookkeeping, negotiation, Catalan, endurance, advertising, electrics, stain removal, despair, multi

tasking, triumph, and people. Over seven years I learned how unique and how similar we really are.

During our proprietorship, the Orsi became Menorca’s most recommended, and highest praised

hostel in Rough Guide, Lonely Planet, and Let's Go, and many more.

• Custom Jewelry Design, and Silverwork. Since 1989 I have been designing, fabricating and

marketing my own jewelry and silver objects. I have attained world wide sales, to clients such as

Bergdorf Goodman in New York, and Harrod’s of Knightsbridge. My work was featured in London

Fashion Week of 1990, and has appeared in numerous magazines, including Vogue Germany and

Marie Claire UK.

CURRENT PROJECTS

• I returned to the US in October 2008, after 23 years in Europe. Most recently I have been

introducing my daughter to American life, and marketing a variety of custom home decoration

objects. When time permits, writing a book, based on a friend’s experiences in the criminal justice

system.

• I occasionally work for a local attorney as an interpreter and researcher. I helped one client prepare

and submit a pro se appellate brief, currently under review by the court.
