2002-2010

Managed all global brand design initiatives to drive strategic plans and

company objectives. Took fiscal responsibility for design and production

budget (5 million), and tracked yearly activities against forecasts.

Ensured appropriate operational aspects (process, resources, databases,

software and hardware requirements, archives). Ensured quality of printed

materials through a comprehensive color management and standards program.

Continuously looked to improve processes and practices to raise quality,

increase speed to market and reduce costs. Established and maintained a

global resource pool (design agencies, pre-press suppliers, photographers),

to meet business requirements. Served as brand champion, participating in

research activities to understand consumer and shopper insights. Ensured

o Successfully developed and executed design strategies that contributed to

o Successfully managed from end to end new product launches, packaging

redesigns and change management projects (over 1000 SKU's annually), to a

o As Global Packaging Department Manager, contributed over $6MM in cost

savings through various led initiatives such as eliminating project

overlaps, managing digital plate transition, negotiating vendor rebates,

centralizing assets for web access and extended gamut printing.

o Spearheaded single sourced strategic partnerships for design and pre-

press. Leveraged spend to take advantage of value add incentives such as

on-site staffing for design, project coordination and color management,

rebate tiers based on volume spend ($90K realized), and technology system

integration.

o Incorporated a fully electronic global artwork approval process and

centralized all digital assets for global web access. Contributed over

$200K in savings by eliminating agency fees.

o Developed and implemented a copy sheet process and database that reduced

packaging alteration costs by $100K annually, reduced artwork approval

Led packaging and branding efforts on Science Diet and Prescription Diet

global brands. Managed design projects from inception through finished

materials, ensuring that projects were executed in line with the overall

global strategic plan and were on time and on budget. Served as the design

point person for all Marketing initiatives and ensured design briefs

aligned on strategic and tactical plans. Analyzed graphic art files for

quality, accuracy and production efficiency. Attended initial print runs to

ensure appropriate color management. Worked across all levels of the

organization and with global teams to ensure flawless execution and took

responsibility for the quality of final materials.
