PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bifrost Development Group October 2008 - Present
Installation, support and maintenance of client hardware/software.
Continuous maintenance included proactive steps to secure client networks
against malware attacks, router installation and repair, and workstation OS
revisions.
Intellasys PCDC, Palo Cedro, CA September 2005 -
October 2008
Participated in a team designing audio mixed-signal embedded designs, using
a 24-core FORTH-based array processor. The two projects were a wireless
home theater audio processor, and an advanced hearing aid with directional
noise canceling microphones.
Shasta QA, Redding, CA July 2004 - September 2006
Implemented comprehensive quality assurance testing of different customer-
supplied hardware and software systems. Tests spanned the range of graphic
user interfaces, to integrated database servers and maintenance. Of
particular significance, was the complete testing and validation of medical
school anatomy courseware (ADAM system). Created a portable defect
management system using an Apache web server, MySQL database, PHP elements
and perl-based scripts to do criticality assignments to time-sensitive
defect management, all in a self-contained dedicated laptop. This system
was used for remote on-site team management of release defect mitigation
efforts, while maximizing security.
Swift Transportation, Phoenix, AZ May
2003 - June 2004
Long-haul tractor-trailer driving.
Wind River Systems, Alameda, CA May 1995 - September
2002
Designed board support packages and device drivers for pSOS+ and vxWorkst
embedded operating systems. Was responsible for products based on PowerPC,
68xxx, and MIPS processors. Designed, specified, installed, and maintained
the automated target processor laboratory, including intraweb-based
client/server interfaces using cgi-bin scripts to control target hardware
and connect virtual terminals to serial interfaces.
Plexus Software, Santa Clara, CA
1992-1995
Participated in a team designing integrated workflow systems using Plexus
and Sun Microsystems computers. The software employed an embedded SQL and
C/C++ programming language to provide database operations within C
programs. Primary responsibility was the main developer on automatic
migration of data to optical recordable media (WORM) and library management
in a variety of robot media handling systems, plus data recovery tools.
Sun Microsystems, Inc., Mountain View, CA
1991-1992
Designed and developed a secure public-access database with automatic
records migration from the internal WAN to externally available web-based
access points (SunSolve Online service), using cgi-bin scripts and a
customized sendmail configuration.
