I created a tower erection and maintenance company in 2004 called Tower-Techs,
Inc. We provided ancillary maintenance on telecommunication towers, such as
cable replacement, antenna and dish repair and installation, strobe replacement
and installation, and tower painting. We also stick built free standing towers and set
several monopoles. We did numerous deconstructs, in which we removed ice
bridges, cables, cabinets, and associated hardware. We also removed equipment
from quite a few water towers. I subcontracted engineers and other help as
needed, where the project involved more than my people could do themselves.
I estimated project costs and supervised projects on the road.
I also am a realtor, and worked for several different customers, locating tower
erection sites, speaking with land owners, working and negotiating deals, writing
lease and sale contracts, and assisting with closings. I have spoken at plan
commission and zoning appeals meetings, worked on variances, and enjoy every
bit of the real estate aspect of tower site procurement as well as the everyday,
hands on life of a tower company owner.
In addition, I set up 2 offices and hired personnel. I am familiar with Quickbooks,
upon which we used to keep books, and ADP procedures, for payroll processing.
We set up web sites, (I designed with a website developer) and advertised on the
internet and in several publications. We joined NATE and The Better Business
Bureau. I had my people Com-Trained and Red Cross certified. I set up vacations
and holiday pay, health insurance, dealt with workers comp and subsequent audits,
and hired a separate accountant for taxes. We were in the black by the third year.
Tower-Techs employees are now part of Peters Broadcast Engineering, Inc. a
small company owned by my husband and myself.
Prior to securing tower sites, I sold residential real estate for 5 years for Taylor
Realty and was very successful. I have a current Indiana license and am selling
again with Coldwell Banker. I know how to, and enjoy, “closing the deal”.
I am seeking employment, as a person who renews telecommunication tower
leases and acquires land, for a large corporation.
I have worked in both real estate and the tower business, love working with people,
enjoy reading contracts, and negotiating deals.
I like to travel, am self motivated, and am certain this is my niche.
I am excited to be able to work in a company, where I can put my varied skills
together into one job.

Bachelors degree - BS in secondary biology and general science education.
Associates-degree in general science.
I put myself through school programming computers in 5 languages -self taught. I
soon learned, that computer science was much more lucrative than teaching. I
eventually received my teaching degree as well. I also wrote user manuals for the
software I designed and wrote and traveled across the US training people on the
new systems for Central Soya Corp.
