Objective
I am a team player seeking a career in the electronics field. I have a
broad knowledge in diagnostics and repair of consumer electronics, as
well as home appliances.
Summary of Qualifications
I have been an in-home electronics repair technician (primarily TV's) for
the past 14 years. During that time a saw a transition from the old CRT
televisions to the new digital plasma, LCD, and LED units. I also
expanded my knowledge over into repair of home appliances (dishwashers &
cooking), garage door openers, and fitness equipment. My electronics
experience came from six years active duty in the United States Navy,
where I worked in the avionics field. I also have a broad understanding
of Windows 7, Vista, XP, Microsoft Office, as well as web navigation.
Work Experience
Service technician (10/1996 - 11/2010)
Sears Holdings Inc, Springdale, AR
In-home consumer electronics repair technician (primarily TV's), as well
as home appliance repair (dishwashers/cooking). Also did repair work on
garage door openers and fitness equipment, which occasionally involved
repair of electronics. I would also handle all service tickets related
to these calls via use of a laptop computer for proper billing and
warranty claims. This job included the use of hand tools, power tools,
test equipment (volt/ohmmeter, oscilloscope), technical support staff,
and a company-provided van with an expansive parts inventory. I did
complete several field training courses during this time.
Avionics Technician (9/1990 - 10/1996)
United Stated Navy
I was trained at Naval Air Technical Training Command, Millington, TN, to
earn my rating as an Avionics Technician. After the initial 28-week
class, I took an additional "advanced" avionics class for 11 weeks and
was advanced early to E-4. I then transferred for final fleet training at
Naval Avionics Center, Indianapolis, IN. There, I was trained on the EP-
3E Aries reconnaissance electronics platform. I performed maintenance on
this system at my duty stations in Guam and Whidbey Island, WA. During my
tenure at both duty stations I received additional training on micro-
miniature electronics repair, as well as Basic Military Police training.
I was advanced to E-5 in August 1995 and given shift supervisor duties.

Additional Qualifications
Electronic repairs occasionally require the use of soldering equipment
and ESD-preventive devices. The service tickets were handled via use of
a laptop computer so that the billing process or warranty claim were done
properly. I was trained for the electronics field during my military
service, as well as some basic police officer skills.
