Experience
2005 - 2010 WS Nelson
Houston, TX
. Project Controls Lead on six Front End studies of ExxonMobil Chad
projects.
WS Nelson, on loan to ExxonMobil Production Company, US Projects
Group Houston, TX
. Developed a database program and procedures to produce consolidation
cost reports on a monthly basis for upper management. The program
produced progress reports for 64 individual AFE projects valued in
excess of $100 million. The recovery efforts included both onshore
facilities as well as offshore platforms repairs due to damage by
hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
. Developed, implemented, and updated the client's intranet website to
display the hurricane recovery projects cost reports, photos,
schedules, and other relevant project information including an
executive summary.
. Developed a SAP user interface program that produced SAP project cost
reports without modifying SAP or the client's accounting system. This
program tracked 316 active projects producing 1,000 reports (AFE
Detail, Invoice WBS Listing, and an easy to read one line per purchase
order report per project).
. Developed and implemented a standardized AFE project report tool.
This was developed in Microsoft Excel using Visual Basic Applications.
This tool was integrated with the SAP Data mentioned above to allow
the Project Managers to import and sort the Purchase Order and Non-
Purchase Order cost data into any format they prefer in order to
better understand the project costs. This report was submitted to
upper management on a monthly basis.
. Lead Project Controls Engineer on the Mississippi Canyon 280 platform
hurricane recovery project.
. Lead Project Controls Engineer on the South Pass 89 platform hurricane
recovery project.
. Developed and implemented a Microsoft Access Field Construction Cost
Tracking and Forecasting Database Program. The program consisted of
two parts (Home Office and Field). This allowed the TFC (Technical
Foreman-Construction) to input all construction cost information by
Purchase Order, Face Approved Invoice or company credit card into the
database on a daily basis. The program tracked ExxonMobil labor,
contract labor, field purchased materials, daily plans, daily
progress, downtime, issues and concerns, painting, rentals, seven day
planner and safety information. This data was uploaded to the "Home
Office" version of the program. The "Home Office" version imported
the data from each of the "Field Versions" from all projects across
the United States. Management (both project and upper management) was
then able to examine all active projects. The "Home Office" version
imported the SAP data. This SAP data was exported to each of the
"Field Versions" at the various jobsites. The cost forecasting module
was a key feature of the program.
. Developed and implemented a "Small Project" cost tracking program
using Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications. This program
was used on the $5 million or less size projects. It include a
simplified scheduling and SAP cost data import routine to allow the
project manager to track and forecast total project costs.
. Lead Cost Engineer on the Mobil Bay Plant Consolidation project.

Autodesk Mechanical Desktop.

was a lump sum project and involved five different Technip Offshore
Business Units.

. Developed the Vendor Document Control System (VDCS2). This program
tracked, controlled and reported the status of all Vendor Documents.
. Zyqad Process Engineering Program. Developed rules for knowledge
bases in Common Lisp using the Zyqad Object-Oriented Database.
Supervisor of Development - Computer Aided Engineering Department
. Piping & Instrumentation Diagram Extraction Program (PIDX). This
AutoCAD program contained the following major modules: Piping Line List,
Piping Valves (extraction and automatic feed to the MICROPIPE Materials
Management Program), Specialty Items List, Tie-In List, and Instrument
Module (reports and interfaces to United Engineering's "IN" Instrument
Database Program).
. Specifications Translator (SpecTran). A Jacobs "Master Specifications
Set" maintained inside the MICROPIPE Material Management System. The Spec
Translator then generated all required specification files necessary for
the CADPIPE ORTHO & ISO program from the MICROPIPE master.
. Piping Translator (PipeTran). This program reads the AutoCAD CADPIPE
ISO program bill of material file and creates a file that is directly
readable by the MICROPIPE Material Management Program.
