Digital Media Coordinator/Systems Administrator
Maestro Turgeon Group is a graphic design, marketing, communications and
advertising agency that serves automotive, banking, health care and non-profit
businesses in southeastern Michigan. Maestro Turgeon Group is a certified minority-
owned company and a member of the MMBDC.
Responsibilities include:
New Media Coordinator/DeveloperWork as part of a creative team in the production of
new media environments for clients. Lead team in development of client-based web
development strategies. Fluent in html, dhtml and css coding, editing and implementing
javascripts in web-based projects; implementing motion graphics for internet and
interactive projects; working knowledge of Lingo for Director-based cd and kiosk-based
interactive environments. Additional experience in video-editing and use of flash-video
for streaming clips in the internet environment.
Design and Layout
Work as part of a creative team of designers, writers and editors in the production of a
wide -variety of print media including newspapers, newsletters, annual reports and
press kits. Additional projects include electronic presentations for meetings and
conferences; web-based internet and intranet projects; and collateral electronic media
including pdfs, motion graphics and audio for interactive cd press kits and public
relations projects.
Imaging
Involved in the processing and enhancement of images and illustrations for client
projects. This includes scanning, photo retouching, color correction and enhancement,

Designer/Systems Administrator – Graphic Associates/Art, Type & Color is a Postscript
environment service bureau and prepress department for Pathways Press, a color
lithography printer.
Duties – Responsibilities included creative design and layout of client ads, brochures,
calendars and books; design and implementation of collateral digital artwork and
illustrations for projects, including digital retouching and color correction of scanned
photography and art. Additional duties included systems administration, preflight
troubleshooting of client-provided electronic files, client consultation and training.
Hardware – Ethernet-linked Power PC Macintosh network. Output was to a Linotronics
330 via a 40 series RIP. A Techtronix Phaser Pxi thermal dye color laser was used for
color comps and an Encad plotter driven by a Photoscript RIP was used for large-format
imaging. Additional hardware includes a DS 608 drum scanner, Omnimedia color
flatbed scanner, Nikon transparency scanner.
1991–1994

Production Coordinator/Systems Manager in the type and electronic art department.
Lettergraphics is a 24-hour graphic arts production house.
Duties – In addition to daily production work, was involved in nightly markup of all
typesetting from company representatives for production staff and turnover between
shifts. Maintained company archives of jobs, software and fonts as well as troubleshot
hardware and software problems on the network.
Hardware – Ethernet-linked Macintosh network. Output utilized two Agfa 9600s capstan
imagesetters driven by a Compugraphic 9000 PS RIP; an Agfa 5000 SelectSet
imagesetter driven by an Agfa Emerald Star RIP; a 600-dpi New Gen plain paper 11" x
17" laser printer. System included a Kodak Prophecy Color System. Additional
hardware included an Optronics drum scanner, Sharp JX600, and an Apple One B&W
scanner. Type department also utilized a Compugraphic Quadex 5000 Composition
System.
1990–1991
Central Graphics Services, Inc.

Production Manager/General Manager – Central Graphics Services, Inc. was a
Postscript environment service bureau. Responsibilities included managing daily
production and quality control of services provided, bids and quotes on new work,
keyboarding, type specification, layout/design and pagination of documents. Proficient
in most popular Macintosh-based software, as well as IBM PageMaker, DOS and TOPS
networking software.
Hardware – Ethernet-linked Macintosh network. Output was to a Linotronics 330 via a
40 series RIP imaging film and RC paper. Two Apple Laserwriters for black & white
output. Automated Windows-based bulletin board software permitted upload of
postscript files to printer queue for overnight service.
1983–1988
Curley Campbell & Associates Southfield, MI 48075
Typographer – CCA was a commercial arts studio servicing the advertising community
of the metropolitan Detroit area. Primary responsibility was operating a Compugraphic
8200 series typesetting system. Additional responsibilities included typositor lettering,
keylining and assistance in the camera department.
Working at CCA provided me with the opportunity to work with both Gerry Campbell and
Dick Isbell, two nationally respected type designers.
