MAJOR PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
ENERGY MANAGEMENT: Worked on several energy-conservation projects such as a
2-year study for AMC Theatres yielding a cost savings of over $63,000
annually in a relatively small 6-plex circular cinema for an initial
investment of approximately $2500!
SAFETY MANAGEMENT: Authored, implemented and administered the Health &
Safety Program for a national company with over 7,500 employees. For over
11 years I was the company's Safety Specialist and Corporate Trainer. When
promoted to Regional Safety Director in 1996, I became the Corporate
Department Head. I have written & maintained all necessary individual
Safety Programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Hazard communication and
Ergonomics. My extensive industry-specific and standardized Safety & Health
Program was created for a multi-jurisdictional area eliminating the need
for multiple plans and paving the way for attainment of a Company Safety
Culture. This Safety Program resulted in the company's decision to raise
the cap for worker's compensation claims from $250,000 to $350,000 per
incident resulting in substantial insurance savings for the company! This
program was also awarded an annual $75,000 insurance premium discount (5-
year cap / $375,000 / 16 buildings / approximately $4687 per building
annually for 5 years) by the OHIO BWC for meeting specified guidelines.
Every facility demonstrated a marked reduction in not on employee accidents
(approximately 60% in the first 5 years) but also a reduction in customer
accidents (approximately 50% in the first 5 years). In addition to a
decline in frequency of accidents, the severity of injuries also was
dramatically reduced (based on claims' costs).
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: I have also been permitted to represent the majority
of companies that I have worked for in matters of community service and
have had the opportunity to work with local police and fire departments,
The Michigan Humane Society, various city officials, and other assorted
fund drives & charities.
