Over 19 years of leadership experience within a Safety Management-Human Resources area in a union manufacturing

Accomplishments

Lead Auditor for ISO 14001. Developed complete program, implementing procedures, and conducted all levels of

employee training to ensure compliance.

Implemented Safety Programs for facility of 300 employees while maintaining OSHA document control

requirements. Safety incidents were reduced by 35% over first year of implementation.

Developed a new equipment review and approval process.

Safe Quality Food compliance programs and employee training.

Coordinate all workers comp injury follow-up, working with TPA and Medical director to ensure quick claim

resolution and prompt return to work.

Lead contact for all outside agencies such as fire department, OSHA, MI -OSHA, and environmental regulators.

Reviewed all new chemicals before being brought into plant. Ensuring app ropriate PPE was available, MSDS was

placed into database and employee training was completed.

First aid and CPR Instructor.

Developed and implemented an In-House PT program that saved the company over $88,000.00 the first year.

Developed a corporate wide Temporary Alternative Duty (TAD) program to return injured employees back to work

(restricted duty). This program reduced total workers compensation costs over 78% over a three year period.

Served as the Safety Representative during construction of several facilities, providing compliance support and on-

site inspections during all phases of the building process. (Heavy equipment operations, scaffold use, electrical

safety, etc.)

As Chairperson of the in-plant Safety Committee, revitalized the group, improved productivity, increased recognition

and facilitated a self-assessment inspection program. Coordinated compliance activities and resolved over 85% of

700 deficiencies initially identified.

Conducted annual insurance claim file audits to ensure claims were managed per our corporate requirements. Files

were also audited to identify any duplicate and/or claim overpayments. Last audit conducted identified an

overpayment of $126,000.00 in one file. Corporate level claim auditing program recovered over $586,000.00 over a

three year time frame. Monthly and quarterly injury analysis reports were provided for managers and executives.

Performed initial facility and regulatory inspections, recommendations and develop action plan for service and

compliance.

Train Management and hourly employee’s on accident investigation and root cause identification, OSHA

regulations, Job safety analysis, PPE requirements, Ergonomics, Haz. Com. Confined Space program compliance,

Blood borne Pathogens, Forklift licensing and safe operations, MSDS compliance, Lockout/Tag out, Emergency

Action and more.

Track loss activities and make recommendations to the Vice President of Risk Management on progress to meet

monthly and annual goals.

Developed EH&S, OSHA and waste management compliance strategies. Served as the Company Rep. during plant-

wide inspections from Michigan OSHA (MIOSHA), the UAW, local Fire Dept, and Property Insurance Carrier.

Analyze, develop and distribute monthly injury reports for the management team, highlighting and trends or changes

in injury occurrences and/or costs and make recommendations on the effectiveness of current safety programs.

Developed compliance directives for fire safety and OSHA standards for multiple locations.

Developed an Emergency Response Chemical Spill Manual detailing procedures for over 26 hazardous materials and

provided employee training.

Developed Contractor Safety/Visitor Security program. Trained all management and plant employees.

Provided proactive ongoing Wellness programs such as Health Fairs, Wellness Education, Weight Management,

Blood Drives, Cancer Education and Monthly Cafeteria Wellness education.

Coordinate and manage the Safety Eyewear/Safety Shoe program, establishing pricing controls with select vendors

and reducing costs by 68%.
